that was the worst restaurant my girlfriend and i have ever been too. we had the garlic bread which was the same as dominoās garlic bread (6 slices instead of 8) but double the price, the limoncello spritz tasted like dishwashing liquid, our pasta took an hour and we were one of 3 tables in the restaurant and we arrived long before the other 2 tables, iām a chef in one of the busiest restaurants in the southern highlands and over our dead bodies will we let an order take over 20 minutes even when we have a full house. the food took that long that the waitress asked how our food was because even she thought that we already got our food ( this was about 40 minutes into our wait). when we got our food it was entree size on a big plate, it was flavourless. never should anyone have to go to an italian restaurant and ask for salt and pepper. i had the clam linguine, clams were about the size of my fingernail, there was about 15-20 clamshells in there and only 3 or 4 of them actually had clams in them and there was little shards of clamshells all throughout my pasta, couldnāt tell if i was chewing on a shell or my tooth. my girlfriend who is also a chef had the spaghetti bolognaise, beef mince was older then my nan and the coles brand pasta sauce tastes so much better then whatever that was, the website shows the bolognaise with parmesan and parsley which was nowhere to be found i feel so bad for the waitstaff, our waitress was so nice and they have to deal with the āchefsā skill issues, poor things didnāt even make the food but have to take the fall for these āchefsā. if the owners want me to come and train there kitchen staff i honestly will because they need all the help they can get. and on top of all that our bill was $100 for what. we literally went home and ate chinese, the only reason we stayed and waited for our food is because we hadnāt eaten today . oml that was tragic we shouldāve went to maccas instead. a refund would...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI booked a table for four people here on 10/07/25 for dinner as a precursor/trial run to a booking for 10 people for a birthday the following Saturday - unfortunately we were very disappointed... Only 2 of us had starters with a/the garlic focaccia for 4 - the Calamari and salt and pepper squid were good (though very small servings even for an 'entree'). The 'mains' ordered were Spaghetti Bolognese, Linguine Marinara, Lamb Cutlets and Garlic Prawns. The Marinara was particularly poor - whilst the menu says "clams, squid, octopus and school prawns", we only found a small amount of tiny, tasteless 'mussels' with possibly one small strip of squid - no octopus or prawns at all. The sauce and Linguine itself were also bland, and seemingly done in/with a not particularly good (olive?) oil (?) The Bolognese wasn't even finished as it too was tasteless and lacking any body or flavour even though it was supposed to be a "house made" Ragu sauce. The lamb cutlets were ok (but again small servings), and served with some uninspired rocket and a 'plant whipped' bedding. The Garlic Prawns as a 'main' were acceptable taste wise, but the serving once again was small and unimaginative. I did ring the restaurant the next day to cancel the tentative booking for 10, and left a message explaining our disappointment and hoped for a return call before posting a review a couple of days later - but got no response. It was a $300 meal (with $100 being for 2 bottles of an acceptable wine), but particularly (and sadly) any quality and authenticity was severely lacking overall (not to mention very small servings), and for $200, we were left lamenting the visit. On another note, there was a large table/party for about 20 people from out of town there on the night, and maybe a table of just 4 patrons (locals) didn't warrant proper consideration? Hopefully I'll get a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy partner and I visited earlier tonight. The venue itself and the wait staff were all very nice and professional. We liked the decor. He had a pizza and I had the seafood linguine. He enjoyed his pizza. I thought mine was kinda mediocre and then I got acute food poisoning. Chills, fever, dizziness, vomiting. The works. Iām having a very bad night.
It couldnāt have been anything else because I hadnāt eaten since early this morning and the pasta is the only thing coming back up. I clocked that my pasta had a strong fishy aroma, the kind you get from not-quite-fresh seafood, but it didnāt really register at the time as a potential danger. I was hungry.
I donāt know if frozen fish was left out for too long or if some other contamination happened somewhere, but something went wrong. I hope they toss out their current stock of seafood and deep...
