Very disappointing. This used to be such a wonderful cafe. My wife and I have been coming here every few months for many, many years and had always regarded Cafe Woodworks as one of the better cafes in the Canberra region, with delicious, beautifully presented food, and a general focus on high standards of quality. However, that appears to have changed. When we stopped there for lunch a couple of weeks ago, we were shocked at how awful the meals were (almost inedible) and the very mediocre standards generally in the cafe. I had hoped that our bad experience on that visit was merely an aberration so I stopped in again today for lunch. Sadly, the same bad experience and for exactly the same reasons; namely, awful meal (so bad that I nearly abandoned it quite early - as it was, I left much of it on the plate) and just a very mediocre approach to everything. I don't know whether the cafe has changed ownership recently but it has certainly plummeted in quality. Such a shame! We won't waste time visiting again as there are so many other wonderful options in the...

Pancake stack - big serving size, has it all! Fairy floss, icecream, delicious fruit.
Bacon & egg roll - everything about it was amazing. Tasty, fresh, perfect serving size. I asked for aioli sauce instead of the onion relish and it was 10/10
Malt thickshake - they use so much icecream, very delicious and actually very thick. Large serving size. They even put extra scoops of icecream on the top! 🤤
Atmosphere is a nice chilled vibe, cosy. Lot of people out for lunch but it doesn’t feel packed - very lovely. Will definitely visit again.
Table service - great service from our waiter that is great at his job and just remembered the whole order and made sure everything was 100%
Waitress brang my 2yo a toy to play with while we wait for our food (didn’t ask her) which I find that to be great service and goes out of her way. Didn’t have that anywhere else.
Didn’t try them this time, but they have great...

Unfortunately the scones were sold out and this was at 1.15pm. The display cabinet with the slices and cakes in it looked, as others have mentioned, dirty and unappetising. Also sparse. So we just ordered coffee. It could have been a tad stronger but it was acceptable. What was very annoying was one of the staff, a lady with multicoloured pink hair, yelling across the restaurant constantly. Her voice was like fingernails on a chalkboard. Totally unnecessary. While we were waiting we read the menu. It was very American-oriented. Can't comment on the food but we won't be back in a hurry given the atmosphere, the unappealing menu and lack of...
