The Gathering Cafe Bungendore — Restaurant in Bungendore

Was charged more than the advertised price. Apparently they have different versions of a menu. Manager would not accept payment for advertised price and charged extra for a hidden cost.

Hello Telisha and thanks for responding to my previous review. I note that you have actively changed the prices and removed the ambiguity when ordering a simple meal. This is good as no customer should have to turn to another page of the menu, understand that an additional charge for ‘Eggs – your way’ under the Extra heading needs to be considered when ordering ‘Bacon and Eggs – your way’. That is illogical and causes confusion. I do fully agree with your opinion regarding a safe work environment. What I don’t agree with is a customer asking for clarification and requesting to pay the advertised price being labelled as unacceptable. To be clear, there was not swearing, yelling or belittlement from either me or your staff. If anything, it was a disagreement conducted in a civil manner. This disagreement was based off the rectified ambiguity and a customer being placed in a position to either accept the extra charge for a meal they ordered for someone else, or to confer and queue again. I don’t need the 3 dollars thank you as it was never about the money. It was about making a transaction and paying the advertised price without being surprised for an extra charge at the till. Hi everyone my name is Paul McMahon I do google reviews for cafes, restaurants, hotels and small businesses. I have been to, "The Gathering Cafe Bungendore." Ever time I have been here the meals prepared where of a very high-standard. The coffee ☕️ too is made with care by the expert baristas. The attached photos 📸 will demonstrate that. The atmosphere at, " The Gathering Cafe Bungendore" is family friendly and the staff are extremely kind and proficient. The manger here is fantastic and super friendly. I can only compliment her on the training of her staff. The service is quick your meals don't take long to arrive. "The Gathering Cafe Bungendore, " has a beautiful fire 🔥 place inside and for the summer ☀️ months a beautiful outdoor area behind the premises. For Canberran's this place is quite close and provides a beautiful outing for the day. Only 30 minutes from the Canberra city. We'll done, I give this place 10 out of 10.

Potato cakes and eggs Benedict. Highly recommend both!

Small location. Adequately priced.

Simple this time with smashed avo on toast and chorizo Benedict.

10/10 on both dishes! Special kudos to the chef and the wait staff for making each lunch one to remember.

EDIT Arrived for lunch just after closing time. (Walked in at 2.03pm)

Not only were the staff friendly and accomodating. They also pounded out another two meals at late notice for us!

Could hear the staff laughing and singing the whole time during my visit. Making for a great atmosphere for a late lunch date.
