Visiting Cairns and not going to this humble little restaurant on the esplanade is doing yourself a great injustice. I googled halal food and Bagus came in the search. The reviews looked impressive and so I ventured there and much to my delights I was able to authenticate the verity of the reviews. Service is not only friendly but has an element of gracious humility to it. On my first day I ordered the Nasi Goreng with Satay chicken and salad. I was totally blown away by the exquisite taste of Indonesia in the middle of Cairns. The hint of belacan in the nasi goreng was divine. On the second day I ordered the beef rendang and crispy fried duck. While the rendang was delicious in taste it needed the beef to become a bit softer and not chewy. The crispy fried duck was perfect in every way. On the surface the duck maryland was very crispy but when you bit into it, it was juicy, well cooked and delicious. The condiments and the add-ons made this dish a truly memorable and enjoyable one. Prices are very reasonable. Give yourself about 20 to 30 minutes for the food to be served. The wait is worth it. Highly recommend this place. The humility of the facade hides exquisite and divine tastes...
Read moreThe low rate is for its customer service. This morning, I went to this cafe to have a dinner with my friend, there is no other customer so the server was not busy. When I paid bill with card, the female server just put the POS machine in front of me and then went to the kitchen. I didn't know how to get the customer copy, because there was no body who want to help me. When I tried to click 'yes' on POS to print my customer copy, the female server went back and yelol to me rudely " don't do this! Why are you doing this" actually her rude tone made me fear and I explained I just would like to get my copy. Then she didn't say anything and gave the copy to me. I don't think what I received from this female server can be called as customer service. I don't know why she treated me so rudely, at that time, this cafe was very quiet, it's not busy, she has no excuse to treat customer so rudely and...
