The food and show were both excellent and definitely the highlights of the evening. However, the overall experience was let down by the service and the venue, especially considering the high price. The service didn’t meet five-star standards, and the location—right next to the hotel foyer—felt more like a casual café than a premium restaurant. This really took away from the atmosphere and made it feel less special.
It was also difficult to hear the staff making announcements, which added to the sense that the event wasn’t as polished as it could be. The venue and service together made the experience feel a bit cheap, and for the price, I expected more.
Another disappointment was the seating arrangement. Our group of five couldn’t sit together, and I ended up at a table with three strangers. While we were given a round of drinks as compensation, it didn’t make up for the lack of proper seating.
Overall, while the food and show were great, the service and venue fell short, making it hard to...
Read moreWe first experienced Le Petit Chef aboard the Celebrity Edge. When we saw it was in Cairns and that our daughter was going to be in Cairns we jumped at the chance in participating again. This time with his friends. The meals were outstanding, the service was friendly and efficient and the show was wonderful. The only critique I would make is that the young lass who presented the show was obviously not confident and did not fully project the details to the guests. A bit of shyness I think. As I say it was a minor critique. The night we went was also my birtthday, my daughter seeing it for the first time coming up from Sydney, just perfect. I have passed on my good reports to my friends and family and hopefully they will go out and enjoy the show. Once again we all thank you for a wonderful night that is certainly something out of the...
Read moreWe were really looking forward to this but were unfortunately left quite disappointed. The servers were amazing - friendly, professional and attentive. But that's where it ended for us. The show itself was gimmicky. Everyone had the same show no matter what set menu you had so if you had the vegetarian menu, you still get the show with the chef cooking up lobster, beef, etc.... So when they say the little chef cooks it up and then it arrives for real, that's only if you get the main set menu. We watched him cook a meal and then something totally different would arrive. Which we wouldn't have minded so much except we found the food to be fairly basic given what we paid for it. It wasn't terrible, just not worth the price we paid. Sorry petite chef! We really wanted to love this but we would...
