The Vine Room Waterfront Restaurant and Bar — Restaurant in Cairns City

I know it’s a newly reopened venue, but as a local and a hospitality worker, I can say they definitely need more staff on the floor.

From the start, the host took us to the table and gave us only one menu for two people. After that, no one came to take our order — we decided to wait, but after about 20 minutes we had to call someone over. A server finally came, took our order for food and wine, and the food arrived, but not the wine.

We had to ask a few times before a very polite staff member came to apologise — we finally got the wine after 55 minutes. Also, no napkins were provided.

The team kindly offered the wine on the house, which was fair, but our food was charged incorrectly and had to be returned and ask for refund.

Overall, I’ll still recommend it — the venue looks great, the food was good, and it has a lot of potential. Just seems like it wasn’t their lucky day. I’ll definitely return to give it...

Wow..this place is amazing. Friendly attentative and deserving of a 5 star rating. Our service and food was impeccable. Such a beautiful atmosphere and views. Food arrived within an acceptable time frame and was delicious. Our waiter was very much hands on and polite. My only set back was myself wanting an extra 2 added to the table . Those 2 did not show so I'm very sorry about that..my apologies. You went above and beyond. We will return..thank you so much....

We had a wonderful experience at The Vine Room. The atmosphere was elegant yet relaxed, and the food was excellent — the barramundi and the risotto were absolutely delicious!

A special mention to Val, who was incredibly kind and helpful in finding us a table even though the restaurant was quite busy. Her warm attitude and professional service made our evening even more enjoyable.

Highly recommended — we’ll definitely...
