I came to mexicairns expecting a very enjoyable experience, because of its popularity, to celebrate my 18th birthday with my friends. And I can say that nothing about working with mexicairns from booking to service was enjoyable. During the process of booking I tried in multiple ways to contact mexicairns about the service (I.e if we are seated in the same place as reserved activities, etc.) Including calling and the question box on the website, And i struggled to find any answers that i needed, if I got an answer at all. Once I had booked my reservation after receiving no reply to my enquiries, your website told me that I could change it up until the day before. When I tried changing the activity times and amount of people the day before the event I could not find where I could edit it. On the day of entering the venue it was unclear to me where I had to go to ask about my reservation, and it turned out to be on the other side of the bar where it was nearly invisible. After ordering, my friends order didn't go through, and we ended up waiting 40 minutes for her food, and it turned out to be extremely bland and dry (the beef tacos). On top of this, I couldn't even have a drink of alcohol because I did not have a valid id, even though I had shown my student id with an up to date photo and my birthday, and a government document which also had proof of age and identity (i was told by department of transport that this document served as a stand in until i get my proof of age id). We couldnt even go to play the games i had spent $40 total on because i couldnt edit the times for my reservation, and we only had enough time to eat. This was the first time i had ever planned, paid for, and ordered for a party in a restaurant completely on my own. This made the experience significantly more stressful and anxiety inducing, and it was not how i wanted to celebrate my 18th birthday. The only thing i can say was good were the mocktails and...
Read moreAfter reading other fellow reviews made on here, I feel as if I should share my negative experience. First of all yes the customer service is horrible. Food is DELISH and atmosphere is amazing but I came in on a quiet afternoon with my family and the Workers seemed like they hated their job and that itâs a burden serving people. I had booked a bowling lane and pool table for my family and after having a good experience in the pool table I went up to the service desk to start the bowling. A younger lady with red hair and tattoos slammed her elbows on the desk and asked âwhat?â I was very surprised by this but told her I had a booking for 3pm for the bowling lane , she rolled her eyes and asked for my name after giving it she told me that it was booked for 2:30 and that I couldnât go on bowling because it was booked by someone else. I got a bit pissed because I had double checked with the worker before that my booking was for 3pm. I told her I have waited for this and I wanted to play or get a refund. She told me to just go on the lane but I would have to leave after 20 minutes for the next people. (I PAID FOR THE 30 MINUTE PACKAGE) I got a little pissed off by this but I decided to just play the bowling and leave. Once I got to the bowling lane it was broken ( the pins were not placing properly and the screen wasnât counting up scores.) I went and told the red haired lady and she came to help (however game still wasnât working properly -which I know isnât her fault,) but I was already sick of my experience so we just played with what we had. - No smiles from staff this whole time and I have to think that the staff really hate their job because their attitude was...
Read moreI usually wouldnât leave a review but the service at this establishment needs to be called out. After spending about 250$ between the two of us, we were told that our table was now reserved and we needed to move on. We were informed that another party was arriving in the next five minutes and we should find another table to continue dining. At no point during the whole previous hour of our visit had anyone ever informed us of this reservation despite having brought food and drinks to our table several times.
What is worse, when the next group arrived, they started making homophobic comments about us, and even to us, but the staff seemed not to care about this. When we spoke to the man who claimed to be in charge he said that our service was great and that this new group was more important.
I probably would have otherwise left this place with a positive feeling as our food and drinks were overall good, aside from not putting our margaritas on the rocks, as we requested. The service here was atrocious and as an international visitor, this honestly makes me question ever coming back to this city and even country. Iâve worked in hospitality for a long time and this experience was far from hospitable. Do not give them your business, there are way better establishments that...
