Came to this café on the recommendation of a friend. Saturday early morning. It was very busy, but I found a good outside table and ordered at the counter. Service was efficient and friendly staff. They warned me that food would take a while as they were busy. Coffee came promptly. I tried the Screaming Maasai blend as it was the stronger of the two. Not as strong as I had expected. Even though I had a large flat white, it should have included 3 shots…. I will try again but try a small or medium coffee to compare with 2 shots. I like strong coffee with a hint of bitterness after taste. Poached Eggs on Turkish bread with avocado was delicious. Plenty of indoor and covered outdoor seating.

I was looking for a good brunch spot in Cairns and came across Bang & Grind Café—the reviews were great, so we decided to check it out. Honestly, this place did not disappoint. It’s a small café, but the food is absolutely top-notch. I had the Poached Eggs Benedict, and they were spot on—perfectly cooked eggs, crispy bacon, and amazing sausages. My partner had one of the wraps, and it was soft, juicy, and easy to eat on the go. Everything was fresh and full of flavor. What really stood out, though, was the service. The barista/cashier was incredibly kind and welcoming—he really makes the place feel special. Friendly, fast, and genuine service that adds to the whole experience.

Coffee was delicious and very well made! I ordered a soy mocha, my go to, and it was made perfectly. Exactly how I like it, creamy, sweet but not too sweet, and still taste that delicious coffee! Also thank you to all the staff on that day. Every single person who worked there had a smile on their face and watched every customer walk in and check in on them. So impressed with the quality of service. Meals were yum too. Great portions and not too expensive so it’s good value. Had no idea coffee was a thing in Cairns! So happy good coffee exists here.

I was disappointed with my experience here. It's expensive so I expected a reasonable standard. Firstly the place stinks of fried bacon. You have to wash your clothes when you get home as it stinks. They must have no exhaust extraction in the kitchen? The large coffee only has 2 shots of coffee so that's not normal if you like your coffee tasting like coffee and not flavoured milk. Also the coffee was served just just light warm just not good enough. Lastly the breakfast at $28 was very disappointing because of the following reasons My fish came with spinach which was put on the bread than the eggs on top of that which made the toasted bread wet like terrible. The salmon I ordered was way too salty indicating it's a cheap variety for the price paid just not good enough. This place is really over priced and over...

I had a lovely long black for $5.50.

There are two electrical outlets that I could see, for the digital nomads our there. Also there is wifi here, you be can ask for the password. The chairs are nice.

Look, in so far as Cairns cafes go, this is a good one.

Here is a general statement, that probably belongs somewhere else: Coffee shops in Cairns do not favor digital nomads. They all close at 2 PM, and they rarely have good work tables or outlets. Also, I've often had this strange experience where I can't order until I've chosen a table (Bang & Grind doesn't do this, thankfully).

If I were to try to open a cafe in coffee shop in Cairns, I would have square tables, a multitude of electrical outlets, and I'd be open til 8 pm. If you want to make a lot of money, that's your ticket....
