If you’re wandering the food court overwhelmed by the usual suspects — noodles, dumplings, sushi-on-the-go — pause. Breathe. Look for Krushna’s Kitchen. It’s not just another stall; it’s a warm, spice-scented portal straight to the heart of Maharashtra.
I came for a quick lunch. I stayed for the puran poli. And then I came back the next day for their modak. They have delicious specials everyday.
The food here doesn’t try to be trendy — it just tastes like someone’s mum back in Pune woke up at 5 a.m. to make sure you’re fed right. The spices are bold but balanced, the textures comforting, and every bite feels like a tiny Marathi poem written in turmeric and love.
Special shout-out to the misal pav, which hits with just the right level of heat. Not the kind that has you regretting your choices, but the kind that makes your nose run a little while your soul thanks you. And the thalipeeth? Let’s just say it made me Google how to say “delicious” in Marathi (it’s chhaan, by the way).
The service is warm, quick, and full of genuine smiles — like they know they’re about to impress you. Which they are.
If you’ve never tried Maharashtrian cuisine before, Krushna’s Kitchen is the perfect starting point. If you have, then you already know why you should eat here.
Come for the food, stay for the feeling. And maybe, like me, start planning your next visit before you’ve even finished your meal.
💬 Final verdict: Your tastebuds deserve this trip to Maharashtra. Don’t...
Read moreDiscovering Krushna’s Kitchen in Canning Vale was like finding a piece of home in Perth. Both my husband and I grew up in Mumbai, and with him being Maharashtrian, the flavours here touched our hearts as much as our taste buds. Every dish carried that authentic, homely taste that instantly reminded us of family meals back in India.
What truly left us awestruck was learning that they prepare Ukadiche Modak on order – not just the traditional ones, but also beautifully innovative versions with gulkand (rose petal preserve) and amba (mango) fillings. To find something so deeply rooted in Maharashtrian tradition, yet offered with such creativity, is truly special in Perth.
The fact that it’s a pure vegetarian restaurant makes it even more unique, and the warmth of their hospitality added so much to the experience. We walked away with full hearts and happy smiles, already planning our next visit.

Read morePossibly the only place in Perth where you will get fresh, home-cooked Maharashtrian food. I had a thaali with 3 straight-off-the-pan chapatis that had generously applied ghee (I almost cried out of joy because hot chapatis have become a luxury for me since I left home), bhendi, kadhi dish, fried paapad, thick slices of fresh cucumber, super delicious jalebi and chilli pickle!
This place is located in a food court so ample of seating is available. The owners were so welcoming and I loved chatting to them.. That too in Marathi! I can’t wait to check out all the authentic Maharashtrian dishes they will be offering! In the 10+ years that I have lived outside of India, the unassuming food at this restaurant truly...
