Absolutely Horrendous food. Today I ordered the Sang Mee ( meant to be crispy fried egg noodles with a rich thick tasty white egg sauce with bak choi, chicken, sliced fish cake and prawns).
What I got today was two minute noodles with a watery, baseless, tasteless egg sauce with four small pieces of bak choi (Chinese vegetable), three very small pieces of chicken, three very thinly sliced fish cake and two extremely small prawns.
I have eaten this dish way too many times to mention and this experience was the very worse, ever!! Oh, by the way this was ordered via Uber Eats.
Anyhow, I telephoned Penamg Delights and spoke to a young lady who was completely disinterested in my complaint and said "we dont care, contact Uber Eats if you want a refund. I expressed to her that I was willing to return the food in tact personally for a refund and she said again no, go through Uber.
The first words out of her mouth which was "we dont care" is obviously a reflection on the food they cook and serve out to the public and it showed, they didnt care.
I gave one STAR to the Uber Driver for his effort in delivering the food on time. These restaurants are misleading and decieving the public in advertising the food in glossy menus and websites and yet the food comes no where even close to the taste and advertised look.
Really I was trying to find some positive to write about the food from Penang Delights and I couldn't. So for me as the saying goes, once bitten twice shy, never ever again.
With absolute sheer honesty, I would have been better well served to have cooked two minute packet noodles, it would have surpassed the food from Penang Delights.
Take this sound advice, when you see five stars given to this place for the food, one must wonder who these people are, perhaps family, friends or people who simply have no idea what good authentic asian food...
Read moreOur favorite place for years. The New management needs to learn more. Just a week ago, I ordered 8 orders beef claypot and 8 salt pepper fish a week earlier for my wife's birthday party. He made me paid in full (300+) which I don't mind at all. *Previous owner just ask downpayment first and let me pay in full on the day of pick up. Then I ask if they can put my orders in 1 big container/tray for each dish, but he said "no." It will be per order so 8 orders of each dish. I said that's fine. *Previous owner put our orders in a big tray when requested. Then a day before pick up, a girl rang me and asked if I wanted it to be in one tray (which I originally requested) but I said if they can split 2 orders separately as I plan to serve it by batches on my buffet set up. New Owner should have talked to me directly instead of passing the message to his staff ( I can hear him from the background during our conversation over the phone with my queries/instructions). Sept. 3, the day of pick up, no prawns crackers and spring rolls. *Previous owners always give us every time we order $50-100 for our gatherings and parties. It could have added up on my buffet table as extras. On the website, says take away $50 or $100, you get these freebies. I spent $300+. I didn't ask when I picked up the food as I have other foods to pick up. The Salt pepper Fish is good but the beef brisket was too watery versus when we dined in. I am disappointed, as we did mention we are regulars and just live accross the road but seems new management dont care. If I experienced this, others will experience the same if not rectified. I hope "new management " will improve after this review to remain in...
Read moreHad a craving for some egg sauce hor fun and saw this place was closeby so I went for lunch with my father and sister. Food was delicious and well-priced. Will definitely be returning.
SERVICE & ATMOSPHERE To my delight, the egg sauce hor fun was featured in a lunch special menu (only $10.50). We ordered and received our food quickly and without any issues. It was quiet with a very relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. The staff were nice and seemed well-organised.
FOOD QUALITY & QUANTITY The food looked very appetising, with very even colours and textures; vegetables were green and crisp (not wilted). The sweet & sour pork looked especially colourful, and was served in a big portion of well-sized pieces of pork. The meat was perfectly cooked, without being dry or drenched in oil. The egg sauce hor fun was especially gorgeous. Every mouthful was enjoyable.
PRICING For the quality and portion sizes, I felt undercharged at their current prices. I've eaten the same dishes at higher prices, but never as enjoyable. The three of us shared four dishes, and had drinks, all for $60. We ate our fill and were still able to take home leftovers. Great value for money,...
