I recently visited Dome Canning Vale and was left thoroughly disappointed. What used to be a dependable spot for a decent coffee and meal has clearly gone downhill.
The first thing that struck me was how rundown the premises felt. The once-inviting café now looks tired and neglected. Furniture is worn, the floor was noticeably dirty in areas, and the overall atmosphere lacked the warmth and care you'd expect from a place with Dome's reputation.
Unfortunately, the food didn’t redeem the experience. What arrived at our table was average at best — overcooked eggs, soggy toast, and a salad that tasted like it had been sitting out too long. Coffee was lukewarm and bitter, not at all up to Dome’s usual standard. Even more concerning, our table (and several others nearby) hadn’t been properly cleaned. Crumbs, sticky marks, and leftover dishes sat unattended for far too long.
Customer service was mediocre — not rude, but certainly indifferent. It felt like the staff were going through the motions rather than genuinely wanting to provide a good experience.
Overall, Dome Canning Vale seems to be in serious need of attention — from management and staff alike. With so many great cafés around, it's hard to justify a return visit unless major...

Now, usually the staff at the counter were friendly but today, I was served by this lady named Anna Marie who not once looked at me or smille. She would ask you a question then looks away?! Like she didn’t care whatever it is she was doing. She was kinda rude!
When our food was ready the same lady was around doing the tables. She heard the bell from the kitchen counter, went there and just looked at it and walked away. I thought maybe I made a mistake thinking it was our food. Five minutes later another set of food came out. This time around most staff were focused on cleaning the tables. I got up and asked the kitchen staff if the food at the counter was actually for us. She said “Yes it’s for that table number. “ It was then that I informed her that the food were sitting there for more than 5 mins now because most of the staff were busy cleaning the tables instead of serving them. She asked one of the wait staff to serve the food. Finally! Please bear in mind that the place wasn’t that busy to begin with. Plenty of empty chairs and table. So you would think they would at least know which one to prioritise first.

Read morePlaced a take away order and was asked to produce vaccination ID whilst only waiting for takeaway. After being told really we could not sit and wait for our takeaway as there was another customer sitting waiting for them to take away also. Being COVID safe we didn’t sit in the same location. We proceeded to tell the young man who would not listen. I spoke to the manager who was very apologetic and refunded our meals. To then receive our meals after we got home we did not receive neither of the meals we had ordered, we then had to drive back to the store and for our actual order. That was not all there, I then rang the store to then be told if I send them my address they would send out a voucher. Today I rang and placed a phone order so we weren’t placed in the same situation as last time. Whilst paying I asked about the voucher, to them be told the manager wasn’t in store and no one could do it. I left my email so they could email me the voucher to then have the store manager ring me and tell me that she could only do it with my address. One would think that they would have filled out the voucher and left it there for me to collect next time I was there. They can keep the voucher! This store has the worst...
