Visited Khan Shinwari last night and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience from start to finish. We called 45 minutes before our arrival to reduce wait time, yet still had to wait over an hour to get the food. We ordered butter chicken but were served chicken handi instead. The naan was burnt and overly crispy when it should’ve been soft and fresh. The chicken karahi was bland and lacked any real flavor. The daal tasted off, and when we asked if something was different, we were told, “it’s just in your head,” with no apology or explanation. For a restaurant that calls itself “Shinwari,” the food did not live up to the name or expectations. The chapli kebabs were dry and tasted like frozen ones not authentic at all. We ordered 6 naan and 6 roti, but only received 6 burnt naan. We had to remind the staff, and even then, no roti came out on time, so six of us had to sit. The service was poor despite there being plenty of staff. It felt chaotic, and nothing was organized properly. Overall, both the food and service were well below average. Definitely not a place I would recommend...
Read morerecently had the pleasure of dining at Khan Shinwari Restaurant, and it was an excellent experience overall. The restaurant specializes in authentic Shinwari cuisine, with a strong focus on freshly cooked meat dishes — particularly their famous lamb karahi and mutton shinwari The food was delicious, full of rich and smoky flavors, and cooked right in front of us in traditional style. The meat was tender, well-seasoned, and served hot with freshly baked naan. Portions were generous, making it great value for money. The ambiance was simple but welcoming, with both indoor and outdoor seating. The atmosphere felt lively, especially in the evening, and it’s a great place for family or group gatherings. Service was good — staff were polite and attentive, although we had to wait a bit since everything is made fresh, which is understandable. Overall, Khan Shinwari is a must-visit if you enjoy traditional barbecue and hearty meals. Highly recommended for meat lovers looking for an authentic taste of...
Read moreI visited Khan Shinwari and absolutely loved every bite. The food was just right and took me straight home.
I ordered the Lamb Shinwari Karahi—it was beautifully fatty, rich, and juicy, full of flavour. The lamb was tender and perfectly cooked in spices, exactly how it tastes back home. I also tried the Chapli Kebab, the only one in Perth that truly brings that taste of home. It was crispy on the outside, soft and juicy inside, with perfect spices. It felt just like authentic Pashtun-style kebab. The Seekh Kebab Roll was also soft, juicy, and perfectly seasoned—as good as anything I’ve had before. The service was warm and friendly, the place was clean, and everything felt just perfect. From the food to the vibe, it all hit the mark. If you want real Pakistani flavours in Perth, this is the place. Can’t...
