Unfortunately my first time here at Super Tetsudo was both disappointing and unpleasant.

Before focusing on my negative experience, i will give a broader overall rating:

The service received is excellent, the wait staff are friendly and helpful, ready to assist customers in navigating the menu and they all acknowledge new customer arrivals with the traditional Japanese greeting. 5 stars for service.

The restaurant itself is bright and modern with neon signage and a very good sushi train. They are fully licensed and serve a range of beverages from beer to saké. Which is great, you can't have sashimi without a little saké, right? 5 stars.

The majority of the offerings on the sushi train, that i saw, would be what i'd call, "modern fusion" Japanese. It was well presented and certainly would appeal to a wider palate, but is not really my "cup of Sencha", 4 stars.

They do have an extensive menu and serve all the traditional Japanese dishes, including raw maki, nigiri and sashimi as well but after my bad experience, i never made it to try the sushi / sashimi and i would be shy to order directly from their menu again. Though i am not likely to be a returning customer anyway.

I took a few of the more expensive plates from the sushi train, and they were nice. A bit lean with the thinly sliced strip of raw salmon, but again, this style of fusion sushi would appeal to the broader audience and they were well presented and that seems to be the consistent theme. 4 stars.

I then ordered two cooked dishes from the menu. The total cost for the said two dishes was over $35. After my first few bites i did not consider them to be worth more than $2 each dish and if i had hindsight, i wouldn't have ordered them even for $2 for both dishes. After eating those dishes i started feeling unwell in the tummy, with an overall "gross" feeling of unwellness, and no this is not from bacterial/contamination, it's not that.

I felt unwell all night and into the early hours of the morning. Not only did i NOT enjoy those dishes but my body did NOT enjoy "working" them through either. That's all i'm going to go into with regards to that. ½ star? Nah. 0 stars? Nope.

-2 stars.

My whole unpleasant evening cost almost $80. I was going to order some traditional sushi from the menu for take away to eat later. Glad that i didn't, regardless of the quality of their traditional sushi/sashimi, i wouldn't have been able to eat anything else later that night anyway.

If you just eat from the sushi train you will be fine, at least you can see what you...

Very average food for long queues not managed adequately by staff especially when people just sitting in there and not eating. Also noticed large families sitting on the smaller tables and then two people sitting at the bigger tables. Also noticed singular tables not being utilised when at least couples sit there. They only put people who were alone on that side. I don’t recommend coming here if you’re starving because it all adds up and the pieces are so tiny and it takes so long to just get a seat during their peak hour. Aburi sushi was nice but very small and very expensive for two tiny pieces. Lion King sushi was tasty. Also liked wasabi spider roll (2 peices) Don’t recommend getting the expensive mushroom taco it was expensive one small item over $10. A lot of people getting the house speciality sushi/ trays of sushi probably better value for money if you like that specific sushi, because when you keep adding the tiny plates or sushi, it gets expensive. Be aware of the plate colours and pricing. We spent over $120 for two adults and one child and I was still hungry afterwards. The food that I had ordered had taken a while to come out and one of the dishes didn’t come out so I asked again and then I got two of the same thing. Not sure how much different this place is from Jaws and I can’t see what’s so special about this place. These type of places have been around for ages. Also, I question the freshness of some of the food that has been going around the food train as you don’t know what time it’s been...

Use to come here all the time. The waitperson was very rude! This should be Super tetsudo should be named as super rude. He asks for the id and he just walked around making customers wait in front of the door.

I am verrrry disappointed!

Ps, the lady at the front was nice though. So just this guy has a bad attitude, if you don't see him. You might still have a lovely experience.

Since I’ve gotten a reply, as I said it was about the id. We were being reasonable at the first place maybe we were looking for the id a little anxiously because we didn’t want people wait after us! We would love to follow the laws but we have rights to be treat nicely and politely, where that waitperson just ignored us and we waved at him when he walked pass us 2-3times and the other lady approached to us and asked how can she help but apparently she wouldn’t have any idea when we showed her the id or proof of vaccine. Then he approached to us and said we made him wait 5 mins! Well, he was the one made us wait because he was walking around ignoring us and when we started talking to him to when we left wasn’t not even 5 mins. Is that clear?

To be fair that lady is nice every time we see her, clearly that waitperson is new and we had bad experience from him.

I think I had made myself clear and fair. Sushi is nice here, other staffs are nice here, except him. Don’t understand what he tried to turn up some chicanery at that time and don’t understand what the owner tried to argue or explain under my...

came here on a Wednesday evening on my own and it was quite busy, had to wait around 20min to be seated despite there being numerous clean empty seats at one point but I'm sure the staff were busy. ordered some of my fave type of aburi sushi, I think Jaws Sushi do a better, fresher, warmer aburi in comparison to this place. the salmon sashimi was very fresh though. definitely satisfied my craving for fresh seafood sushi without having to go into the city. the tenpura vegetables weren't really lightly crumbed, the batter was quite heavy and a bit too greasy but still enjoyable to me. the matcha mont blanc was good, and the taiyaki was fantastic, served with caramel sauce, it's more deep fried crispy on the outside and soft, fluffy bread on the inside filled with custard, I've never had a taiyaki quite like it! the service from staff was all very friendly when I asked a couple of questions and requested various things, I really appreciated that. also love the fact that when you order a la carte it comes to you on a little automated train shaped tray that makes train noises! this place is a good quality if slightly expensive option for an authentic meal. I paid $55 for all the dishes I have shown in my photos. I would say Jaws Sushi in the city is similarly priced but better quality fresh sushi in my opinion.

Just had the worst service from this place. Waited in line, was seated at our table and told we are closing in 5 minutes. Reminded on a minute by minute basis as she took our order People were still standing in line waiting to be seated, unaware of the horrors awaiting to face them. Not sure why they bothered seating us, just tell people you are closed instead of "serving" people and treating them with disrespect. Ordered our food quickly as requested. Came back out twice to check our order was done correctly. One dish wouldn't go through, so she threw down a ticket on our table and turned away without further explanation. I guess one of us can just not eat? Asked her to come back to explain what was going on. She said it was after hours already, I can't order anything else but can take food from the sushi train that has been going round the whole day. Talking like I was wasting her time. In my whole life, not sure I can say I've sat down at a restaurent and been served like this before. The four of us have left now, wondering if this attitude stemmed from maybe because three of my friends aren't from Australia. If it is, shame on you. Otherwise close your store, train your staff. Merry Christmas to you too.

We took our seats at 12:52 pm 1) 𝗪𝐚𝐠𝐲𝐮 𝐁𝐞𝐞𝐟 𝐓𝐚𝐜𝐨 $𝟏𝟎.𝟖𝟎 𝘚𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘨𝘶 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘧, 𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘶𝘤𝘦, 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘷𝘦 & 𝘴𝘦𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘦, 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘪 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘮𝘢𝘺𝘰, 𝘬𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘺𝘢𝘪 𝘴𝘢𝘶𝘤𝘦 All of the ingredients work well together. Sushi rice and beef are wrapped in tacos. I'm impressed that they used seaweed as a base and served it crispy. This has to be ordered! 2) 𝐊𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐢 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐥 $𝟏𝟖.𝟖𝟎 𝘍𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘥 𝘴𝘰𝘧𝘵 𝘴𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘤𝘳𝘢𝘣, 𝘬𝘪𝘮𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘦, 𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘶𝘦,𝘴𝘦𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘦, 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘴𝘢𝘶𝘤𝘦 We believe this is common for us. I feel like the soft shell crab isn't deep fried enough, and the sushi is a little soggy (Might be due to the kimchee) 3) 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐲 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐆𝐮𝐧𝐤𝐚𝐧 $𝟓.𝟖𝟎 It's not spicy or flavorful enough(IMO) 4) 𝐓𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐨 𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐢 $𝟓.𝟖𝟎 This is the 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 tamago mentai I've ever had. It's incredibly soft and fluffy, with a hint of sweetness. 5) 𝗪𝐚𝐠𝐲𝐮 𝐁𝐞𝐞𝐟 𝐀𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐢 $𝟕.𝟖𝟎 The sauce complements the wagyu beef, which is soft and melts in your mouth. This is by far the best Japanese food in Perth(IMO). Please let me know if you know of any better Japanese restaurants that I should try! Total damage $𝟕𝟎.𝟖𝟎
