Banjo's Bar & Bistro — Restaurant in Cannonvale

Came here with myself and 7 friends. As per my typical review, I ordered a tradition chicken parmie with chips and salad. We took advantage of their 2 for 1 deal, resulting in an individual price per traditional parmie of $15 (As opposed to the standard price of $20).

Wait times were minimal however this does not make up for the poor quality that the food was delivered in. Whilst the ingredients were stock standard, I believe that it is likely that our parmies were cooked rapidly to reduce wait times, drying them out and burning the crumbs, resulting in an unsatisfying texture which is difficult to cut. The taste of the cheese and ham ontop was hidden by the in your face and thick sauce located underneath to superficially increase the apparent thickness of the meal. Said sauce had a biting spice to it which would normally be acceptable and exciting if it were on a meal from which you would expect such spice. However on this parmie, it merely masked the flavour of the rest parmie.

This reviewer would recommend a lessening of thickness in the sauce placed on the traditional parmie and taking extra time to cook the meal correctly, as well as potentially using thicker chicken. However, that last recommendation is not necessary so long as the lacklustre size isn't compensated with via the overzealous sauce.

Overall, I cannot justify this purchase at its full $20 price tag in its current state. I would recommend taking advantage of the 2 for 1 deal, which results in a far more reasonable price point for the quality...

a lively bar and bistro in cannonvale!!! a incredible find. prices here are really good for the amount of food you get, and we didn’t know that there was a two for the price of one meal today till we read the menu so it was a pleasant surprise! for the two for one we ordered the prawn gnocchi and beef lasagna, adding to our order we got the seafood plate and half a dozen kilpatrick oysters and for drinks we got a beer and a passion fruit kiss cocktail prawn gnocchi was so good!!!! 5 prawns were given and the gnocchi was cooked nicely and the sauce was so yum!!!! a bit spicy cause they put a lot of pepper but overall amazing! beef lasagna was yum too! there was mash on top of it which is different to other places and was yum! the mash and veg on side was alright the mash was cold and dry though which was a bit disappointing but overall alright! seafood plate was so fresh! fish was fresh and calamari was fresh too! oysters were pretty good~ cocktail was very interesting, not my type of cocktail, a bit too strong and kinda tastes like cough medicine haha~ for dessert we ordered churros and sticky date pudding, very surprisingly good!! good amounts for a good price!! staff here are very friendly too!! overall a lovely experience!! definitely...

We had a wonderful meal tonight at Banjo"s. We are travelling with our two dogs and were able to take them with us which was just fantastic. The staff go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and accomodate for your four legged friends, giving us a water bowl for the dogs and organising a suitable table for us to sit at. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff at Banjo"s. Thank you so much for your impeccable service and nice meals at a good price. Truly the best service we have had dining out with our dogs.
