Culture Colac — Restaurant in Colac

The food & drinks were great but I don’t think my Parma - chips & salad was worth $30 (would be worth it if the Parma was just a bit bigger). But great food nonetheless! I asked for an add on of mushroom gravy and got offered a red wine mushroom gravy type of jus - which I’d never tried before but it was absolutely fantastic. My partner didn’t enjoy the tasting plate very much - we do not recommend the tasting plate. The folks serving us were absolutely wonderful!

I will say, at one point it got very smoky while we were eating dinner, I’m not sure if something was burning in the kitchen, the restaurant wasn’t exactly filled with smoke but there was a layer of smoke just by the ceiling for a few minutes, but no smoke alarms went off which was a bit concerning as there was enough smoke to set off a fire alarm. Bit of a safety hazard, although I didn’t mind the smoke itself as I just assumed someone in the kitchen was still learning. I’ll most likely end up eating here again on my next...

Tasting plate was advertised as a main meal, was more like an entree size. Definitely lacked quantity & quality. The salad was limp & sparse, calamari was wafer thin, one cube of dry pork belly, one spoonful of rice with four small prawns the size of twenty cents & ten chips. Food was very disappointing, left feeling hungry. Dessert menu, three items not available. Ordered the fondu but was told wasn’t available because they weren’t expecting so many patrons! The one star is only because you can’t give a minus. We didn’t spend any money as we were forgotten. The male server needs to find his voice. The blonde seemed irritated by us… sorry for trying to keep you in a job. The female with black hair didn’t come near us but seemed helpful to the table who came in after us, bringing them drinks whilst the male took their food order. It took us about 2 minutes to decide our order but a good 10 -15 minutes later nobody even checked in on us so we walked out. Wouldn’t recommend and certainly won’t ever waste...
