2 stars (instead of 1) because of the view, sweet little cottage dwelling and friendly service. Unfortunately, the food was horrible. Eggs overdone, bacon burnt around the edges, couldn’t tell if the Turkish bread was toasted or just slightly stale. If you’re after a coffee, a cake and a nice view then head along. The actual menu is lacking and would go a long way if some extra side options (avocado, tomato, mushrooms, spinach perhaps - all easy to get in country Vic) were available, without having to purchase a full “Garden Breakfast” which has zucchini and other bits that are a bit left of field that you’re likely not keen on for breakfast. A cafe with plenty of untapped potential.

Edit to respond to owner: sorry, but where on your menu does it state those sides? I only see it mentions bacon, which we ordered. We didn’t have time to ask for the meal to be re-made and cooked again, we were travelling through. Thanks for taking the time to respond, but it was unfortunately not a...

The worst scrambled eggs I have ever had. It took over 20 minutes to get to the table. The eggs were cold and when I told them , the cook stuck her thumb in the eggs and rolled her eyes at me. Tells me she will make them again. Yet 30 seconds later arrived back at my table. The same scrambled eggs that she tested with her thumb 🤮 which she obviously just warmed up in the microwave. NEVER AGAIN 😡 The cook tried convincing me that she had made me another one, but I mentioned how it was possible that she made it in 30 seconds. Then she made up some story that the second plate was made for someone else but gave it to me instead. Yet without a doubt, it was the same plate. If only the cook with a bad attitude had apologised for the badly over cooked cold eggs instead of rolling her eyes, it would have made a...

Visited yesterday afternoon — it was obviously close to closing time (2.45pm) as the coffee machine had been cleaned so I couldn’t order a takeaway coffee. The barista was really rude and reluctant to even let me use the toilet.

I ordered a gluten free savoury scone to takeaway which was lovely however a few hours later, my coeliac sister and I become extremely sick after eating it. She was so violently ill she was unable to continue driving her and her nine month old back home. I’m not sure if the scone was mislabeled or the lady gave me the wrong item as I haven’t had a response via email or Instagram yet. But if you’re coeliac I would definitely recommend avoiding this place as there is obviously a lack of attention to...

Baristas need to invest in a thermometer. Coffee was served at about 50°. I unfortunately had to take it back and was asked 'well what temperate did you want it?' I told them that I wanted a normal coffee at 63°. I was then given a coffee that had to at least be 80°. I'm talking burnt my tongue boiled. The cafe also has a lot of clashing decorations. It's part quaint lakeside cafe, part slap-dash convenience store. The artwork really needs to tie together a bit more.

Beautiful cafe overlooking the lake. Nice service. There are plenty of options for seating outdoors and indoor seating available, too (choose a table number before ordering). Bathrooms are located indoors by the main counter. We only had coffee (no food), and it tasted excellent. The Botanic Gardens surrounded this cafe, and there was ample parking, including enough room for larger vehicles if it's not too busy. Overall, it was a lovely spot.
