There are times when reviews, like GPS navigation can end you up in a ditch. This was a similar case.

I don't understand the great reviews at all, as our personal experience was quite unsatisfactory.

Salient features leading to poor satisfaction:

The Dal Makhani was extremely salty. Upon reporting, it was mixed with generous amount of cream (this is already quite a rich dish!). This was despite us requesting no addition cream or butter in our food.

Almost all dishes except for the bread had copious amount of chili heat. I can handle heat but this was dialed up all the way to 12 on a scale of 10.

General ambience and aesthetics of the place can be improved. Not asking for a marble floor, fancy stained glass or jewelry studded walls. Cleanliness and attention to detail goes a long way. Specific issues:

spider web on the wall. whole bunch of rice thrown around the floor that they never bothered to clean. glass surfaces haven't been cleaned in months (appears that way).

Etc. Etc.

Presentation and attention to details matter. Especially when you command nearly $100 for a meal for two.

Visited Golden Sky Indian restaurant on the way back after visiting 12 Apostles. We called to book a table on the way. Also pre-ordered the food. Ambiance - Very warm and homely ambiance. Food - We had ordered Chicken Tikka but Mild as it was for our son. It had perfect amount of spice and my son really savoured it. Rest of food was tasty. Food had unique taste here so even though we ordered routine Paneer and Koftas but they were cooked with different taste. But the most I enjoyed were Naans. Garlic Naan were soft and crispy at the same time. Wish we find that quality in Melbourne. Facilities : Special mention about Parent change room. The parent change table was the best I have come across in Vic public places. It was clean, had change diapers , tissues etc organised very well on the changing tables.
