After a long drive from Sydney and wandering through the National Parks, my friends and I went to this resturant for dinner. It was highly rated place and I also checked one day in advance in case it didn't open on Good Friday. I was really looking forwards to enjoying a nice Chinese dinner. However, when we sat down and ordered the food, the waiter named Hugo served us but there is no sense of welcome or smile from him as if we owe him some money. Well, it may not be that material if the food is good and satisfies our needs. However, when we ordered the ToFu hotpot, we clearly state this was for two vegetarians in our group, but Hugo (the waiter) didn't tell us there are actually five different kinds of meat in the hotpot and still ordered it for us. And the only vegetable in the hotpot turns out to be two small pieces of fried ToFu. This is a violation of Australian Consumer Law under False or Misleading Claims where the waiter provide us information which cause a false impression. We understood that one may make mistake by accident, and this doesn't matter too much if he could possibly show regrets or say sorry to us. However, neither happened and he was so rude and said " this is how we make ToFu Hotpot". This seemed to me that he delibrately made this mistake and he didn't want to correct it next time. This makes me feel disrespected as a customer. In relation to the food taste, I have been to more than one hundred small towns in Australia and tried many Chinese restaurants, but the taste of this one is certainly below average, if not the worst. A proper Chinese restaruant shouldn't cook all the food using the same sauce and cooking technique. Methods like steam, roast, braise and stir fry should be applied according to different types of cuisines. Overall, I didn't recommend this resturant if you want to enjoy good Chinese Food. If the owner could possibly see this review, please educate your staff to RESPECT your customer and be RESPONSIBLE. THIS IS THE BASIC of HOSPITALITY.

I almost gave 1 star, but due to the fact the restaurant was very busy, I gave an extra for compensation. We came here because the usual Chinese restaurant we go to in Cooma was unfortunately closed (probably the reason this place was so busy today). We were "greeted" with "yep", which didn't feel at all welcoming. The curry puffs were terrible. When my main meal came out, it came with fried rice which would have been fine, except I don't eat fried rice which is why I ordered mine with plain rice. I gave it to the waiter and reminded him I ordered plain boiled rice. My meal came back over 5 mins later. The same meal, with fried rice. This happened to 3 tables surrounding ours also. One table was delivered the same curry beef 3 times, before the whole table had to simultaneously yell, "it is meant to be curry puffs!" (Bet they wish they stuck with the curry when they tried the curry puffs 😬). We ordered Chinese tea to have with our meal. That came out a full hour later, when we had all finished our food. The rest of the food was OK. But I won't be back to this restaurant

First time when to this restauran. Staff aren't friendly face like people force them to work no smile at all. Our order was wrong asked for two large rice got two fried rice, we even took one of them cause we felt bad as it was already made. We have 2 kids asked for kids plastic container cause the kids cant use ceramic just in case it break, got given two plastic small container got charge $2/ ea $4 without even told.. have no idea this place why charge for container that expensive .. we used for our kids to eat.. Food was not good either. Asked for one Hot water pot for one person and tap water but got charge for $3 for 8pax dont understan why they even count the 2 babies.

Arrived for lunch one hour before closure. Ordered quickly. Received the wrong dish not once, but twice.

On first send-back, the chubby male waiter (saying this not to be rude but to distinguish this person from a female waitress who has always been good), rolled his eyes at me.

Within 2 minutes he brought me a new dish then scurried away as fast as he could.

That one was incorrect also (a chicken dish. I'm vegetarian).

I called him back and he gave me another eye roll, gruffly scooped up the plate and mumbled something incomprehensible under his breath. The words weren't clear but the tone was enough that it was intended to be offensive.

This was followed by a lot of screaming and yelling in the kitchen followed by the sound of crashing plates. I could not believe my ears.

On the third attempt at serving my lunch, it was literally thrown down at me from a height of maybe 15cm in such disrespect and disregard that I could not fathom how this person could be in a service job.

As he ran away, I asked if he is ok. He ignored me. I then said that I'm sorry that he incorrectly took my order.

Despite my lack of appetite due to stress, we ate lunch. The food was fine. I'm hoping after the behaviour of the chubby male waiter that mine wasn't contaminated. I guess I will know tonight.

Things got worse.

We were then told rudely they would be closing in 5 mins and our plates were whisked away.

When I paid the bill, I tried to talk to this guy. I told him I'm happy to pay for the bill but that my service experience was less than ideal.

He had zero interest in talking. He cut me off with a sarcastic "have a nice day" - turned around - and served someone else.

I said I would like him to listen to me. Is he not interested in feedback in how he can improve?

Again he cut me off. I pretty much told him at that point that he could....

Come on Cooma China Town. Surely your interest is in a lasting and profitable business. You will only achieve this with a good customer experience, good food and professional staff who are invested in making people's dining experience unforgettable for all the RIGHT reasons.

Would give zero stars for service and...
