This place without question was the worst takeaway experience I've ever had and witnessed. Literally must be the only mediocre "Italian"-esque place in town.
Not only was the wait time unbearable and triple what we were initially advised (which with good customer service I can overlook) but the amount of disorder between the kitchens was appalling.
We came to order some takeaway pizza, when we arrived, we were advised it would be a 40-minute wait on takeaway, to which we were fine with and our takeaway order accepting there would be a 40-minute wait. Came back after 40 minutes and was told it would be another 10 minutes, sure not a problem.
As my partner and I sat there we overheard one of the waitresses giving another customer their takeaway order say as they were handing over the order "just as well as I checked your order, your squid is missing! I don't normally check people’s orders" she then took the bag back and went to the other kitchen to follow up on the squid and advised the other customer it was coming off the grill. Meanwhile, after 20 minutes I asked again and was told "it hasn't come from the other kitchen yet where pizzas are made, it'll probably be another 20 minutes". After over an hour waiting in store, and the horrendous service we witnessed, it's a mystery how this place stays in business especially with no front of house management.
I asked what they would do to improve the customer service experience and was met with a shrug of the shoulders. No offer to go ask the other kitchen how the order was going, no apology, no offer for a partial refund. I then was told by one of the other people preparing pizzas (quite rudely) "you can wait or get a refund" The engagement with the pizza chef, and inability to escalate to management was disgusting. Attitudes like that should stay in the kitchen. We opted for a refund and was told it'll be processed and go back into my account. I then asked for a receipt to show the $65 order had been refunded and was given a look like I had two heads.
After repeatedly asking, one of the waitstaff eventually got the "manager" who had been out the back and we had to rehash the whole saga with her. Thankfully she did apologise for the inconvenience and processed the refund.
Better communication with the two kitchens is a must and customer service training for the front of house staff is also a must. Read moreWe unfortunately had 2 unpleasant encounters with this restaurant. We booked for dinner on a Friday night and although the restaurant was reasonably busy the service was poor and slow. A serving of oysters kilpatrick arrived after all the other entrees were finished. The oysters were the size of a little finger nail and were cold. Apparently the oysters were sent to the wrong table where they sat for 10 mins. The next night we ordered some home delivered pizzas. After waiting 2hrs we rung the restaurant to find out the ETA of 3 pizzas, 1 gluten free. We were advised by the staff member the pizzas were on there way. 5 mins later we received a call from the restaurant advising they had no gluten free pizza bases left, did we want some pasta instead. We agreed. 25 minutes later we got a call from the restaurant stating they had 2 orders for us, one with a gluten free pizza and another order which included gluten free pasta. Read moreA group of us went to D'Amico's Restaurant last Saturday for 3 family birthdays together and how wonderful the whole experience was. We were met by Lisa who quickly showed us to our table and from there on the food and drink was served very efficiently and all staff were capable and friendly. What a difference it makes when one can tell that the staff are also enjoying the experience! Body language tells heaps! The food was abundant in each serve and the Lamb (Dinosaur in size) shank was delicious, tender and expertly cooked. All meals were commented upon by everyone at the table as to how tasty and generous they were and I will be very happy to return there for more meals in the future.
