Friends joined me at the Eli for a memorable gathering. One of them is embarking on the Spirit of Tasmania, and you can see the ferry while sipping on your drink in the bar. We started off at the bar, soaking in the lively atmosphere before heading to the bistro for a scrumptious lunch. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, making our experience even more enjoyable. The bar and bistro offer stunning views of the Mersey River and Bass, adding to the overall charm of the place. As for the food, it was simply divine. Everyone was delighted with their choice, and we couldn't get enough of the mouth-watering dishes. Personally, I couldn't resist the Lemon Pepper Prawn Tacos, bursting with flavor and perfectly complemented by the garlic aioli. Trust me, it's a must-try. And for my other option, I also indulged in some fries with pepper creamy sauce, which were spot on. Others in our group raved about the Crumbed Scallops, tender and delicious, as well as the Chicken Schnitzel with gravy and Parmi, which they described as simply heavenly. A pleasant dining experience at the Eli.

Well this was a real surprise after few bad experiences related to small night parking hotels in Tassi. First of all, the staff was extremely friendly. I called them to telll them that it'll be late when I arrive all the way from Hobart, but the lady on the other end told me to not to rush, take my time and to watch out because there can be animals on the road. Such a love and caring. When we arrive, the room was modern and super clean. We had a microwave in the room. Beds were provided with heating blanckets, and the bathroom was super spacious. I would say this was a real value for money for around $ 110 per night. They had a dining in pub + a resturant but there were plenty of food options just outside the hotel as well. Highly recommend this place if you are planning to take the morning Ferry to Melbourne. This is like a 10 mns drive from the terminal. Thank you very much to all the staff!!

We stopped for lunch on a Monday and it was a very below average meal. Given the high prices we thought wow it must reflect quality. Boy were we wrong!, We had a steak sandwich $33 and a chicken parmy meal $33 The Steak was chewy and grizzly and pic below shows the oil we were squeezing out of the onion rings. The chicken parmy came out soggy. We ate half the meal and left, the waitress asked if we wanted a takeaway container we said no. What I wanted to say was maybe to hurl into .. The other pic shows you what $5 “jug” of sauce looks like..

If this review was based upon the staff - it would be glowing, no complaints there. ||The stay however, was not enjoyable for a few reasons:|- The car park is a problem waiting to happen. The lack of defined parks allows anyone to park anywhere, potentially obstructing other cars. We had a lot of random car doors slammed right in front of our room, which brings me to my next point...|- The walls are basically paper-thin. We could hear the guy next door to us snoring as if he was in bed with us, conversations from the other wall sounded like they were happening in the room, and our post-travel sleep-in was disrupted by a 6am shower next door, which managed to drown out the sound of our whiny fridge!!|- The best part about the room visually was the modern bed-head, and that's it. The painted brick, and old vertical blinds gave me classroom vibes. And the kmart accessories/furnishings screamed 'budget' (the furniture assembly stickers hadn't even been removed!) ||I know it's not marketed as the fanciest place in Devonport, but some pride wouldn't go astray either. Neither would powerpoints next to the bed (you know, for convenience) or some kind of soundproofing!! I feel for our neighbours who MUST'VE had to endure the trashy TV we...

We knew this was budget accommodation and weren't expecting anything fancy, but we did expect to get a good nights sleep. Boy, how wrong we were. We were put right next to the laundry room, so with paper thin walls we had washing machines and dryers going all night on one side and a group of extremely loud people on the other side. With one shared outdoor area - right out the front next to the cars, we could hear every word the group said (sounded more like yelling) and we could smell their cigarette smoke coming in under the door. We ended up having to bunch up the towels and shove them under the huge gap below the door, although this didn't really seem to help. When they finally went to bed we could continue to hear them talking and every move they made.||The car park is a nighmare, there are no designated spaces so people were parking anywehere and everywhere, and came and went all night long. We could hear car doors slammed out the front of our room every hour.||||The inside was nicer than expected, but with no powerpoint next to the bed, a rock hard bed and the buzzing fridge were all very annoying.||Would never stay here again, and would recommend you...
