We were a group of 12 quests who attended Quan's Kitchen on recommendations from friends. First impression was that there was ample parking (we went for Sunday lunch) . It was 12:30 and the restaurant was half full, and by the time the first dish came, the restaurant was full and that tells us that the food must be good! We were welcomed warmly by 2 staffs and our drinks orders came very quickly. And our other dishes came very quickly after one another. Our orders were as per the following, with photos. Overall the cooking suited us well as the use of enhancers and seasoning was not overwhelming as to lose the original taste and "structure" of the various types of meat. It didn't taste "commercialized" but i would say they were very "home cooking" style. I won't prolong this longer any more than necessary but to say "it was beyond our expectations in quality, quantity and price. We will be back.

This is a little “gem” not cheap but worth the experience. I’ve been coming here for a number of years now with friends, family and sometimes on my own. The food is great. Lots to select from an extensive menu. When busy you may have to wait a little, but not too long like in other busy restaurants. I have to say that in the years that I’ve been coming here for lunch, dinner as well as yam cha $$ some days. The freshness of vegetables is always there delicious. Seafood (never had a mashee prawn). As I said before food *****

A decent yum cha in belco side, but could use a bit more flavour overall. The congee is alright, but the fried dough is overcooked. The siumai is properly cooked but lacked flavour. The sharks fin dumpling is a tad better but all I can taste is celery. The fried wonton and fried lobster were decent though. The highlight of the trip is the crispy prawn rice roll which is the best I've had. Though the skin is a bit thick, I like it that way. Would visit again for that.

Food = 2/5 Service = - 5/5

If I could give this negative stars I would. I came here with my family for a birthday yumcha.

Service FYI This place doesn't have the trollies. We gave our order at 11:45, gave up eating 1:15 as we still had not gotten all of our dishes which we ended up cancelling and taking our cake back. Every dish came out so slowly which was so frustrating because half the fun of yumcha is having so many varieties in front of you!

I felt a bit bad for the staff at first as they were severely understaffed. But it was also hard to have sympathy when they themselves were quite rude. When we inquired about our dishes they would start walking away before we even finished talking because they were so busy.

Food Since the service was so bad, the food was even less enjoyable but I'll try and stay objective!

Overall ok with hit, misses and average dishes.

Below average: Cheong fun was shocking. The steamed rice noodle was so thick, they looked like plastic tubes. The radish cakes/lo bak go looked so sad, they were clearly rushed and seemed a bit burnt as most of the bottom was dark but still tasted ok.

There were a few good ones such as bbq pork bun/charsiu bao, bean curd rolls and the mini cube version of the radish cake/lo bak go.

Overall give this place a miss. My go to yumcha spots are either...

I ordered the soft shell crab from here, as well as another dish. The second dish was as expected. However, for the soft shell crab, I was charged $13.80 for a portion that fit in palm of my hand. It came with no sauce or dressing or accompaniment of any kind. The pieces were so small as to have the texture of potato crisps. No piece was large enough to have either the flavour or texture of crab. I would be forgiving of the dish were listed as an entree/ side/ snack. However this was listed under fish mains. I basically paid $13.80 for a dish as satisfying as a small handful of crisps. I guess I will fill up on cereal or toast now. I did call the restaurant and offer them the opportunity to explain or rectify - however I was told that there was an error in the menu listings, but they could do nothing to assist me. If you are ordering from here, I hope that you are not...
