Environment: tiny and clean. Food: ewww... many reviews said the food is good. Sorry can't agree. Overall they are too salty. We ordered the deep fried chicken wings - too dry. Paw paw salad- far more too salty. Chef special beef casserole - had quite a bit flavour but again it's very salty. Beef pho - fairly speaking it's above average. But can't enjoy the soup as it's too salty. Service: quite rude. We took our 5 yrs old and 14 months old with us. The younger one only had 4 teeth so far and there was no kids menu. Therefore, I prepared her half banana and one slice of bread to keep her busy and quiet. The owner( I supposed she is ) told us outside food is not allowed. Seriously? I can't feed my child with those salty food, can I? I told her it's only for the baby. Trust me babies can sense what's going on. My little one normally is a very good eater and well behaved at dinning table. Out of sudden she started playing up. We didn't want to disturb other people as it's a tiny place, so my husband and I took a turn to take her out. While my husband was out with my child, the owner came to take some plates away without asking if we're done or...
Read moreWith regards to the review about the woman who had a stroke whilst dining at Bui’s, my dad and I (who are regular customers) were sitting right next to their table and witnessed the whole event.
The Bui’s staff went above and beyond to accommodate the medical emergency, and performed spectacularly. The woman who had a stroke, as well as her friend, had several glasses of champagne and were both quite intoxicated (reminds me of a bad skit out of Absolutely Fabulous between Patsy and Saffron!).
It is an outrage to assume you do not have to pay for your meal and the service of the restaurant just because your friend had a medical emergency (which the staff helped with!).
How entitled can you get? Seriously madam, you should be thanking this fantastic restaurant for their assistance in helping your friend, and should apologise.
For anyone who hasn’t been to Bui’s yet, their food is the best Vietnamese in Canberra (I can highly recommend the 3 Hour Slow Cooked Lamb curry) and the staff are...
Read moreSaturday lunch visit. Spring rolls were bang on fresh and really good. That’s unfortunately kinda where it stopped.
The chicken with mint was really average. Chicken was rubbery and the sauce was super super salty. Not sure if it was the brand of soy or just a heavy handed chef, but it definitely overpowered the dish to the extent it killed the other flavours. No fresh, no zing. The staff were also quite odd in that the one lady serving was constantly looking at her watch and quite blunt and not in a happy mood with the customers when they came to pay. We heard her turn customers away with dining saying takeaway orders only at one point. Strange. Not sure if she was having a bad day but our experience was also transactional and lack lustre. Not a place we’ll...
