Have been to this Pub many times in the past but will never take my family again. Failed on all accounts. First thing to notice from last visit where the plastic fold out tables and chairs inside and lack of any music. Ordering a beer and receiving it in the can, then being asked did I want a cup with it, followed by my large LLB being served in a spirit glass! Ordered our food at the same time, both entrees and mains came out together after half-an-hour of waiting. Was it busy? No! No food came out from the kitchen during that period. Went to complain at the bar but advised the Manager was not on tonight. We also had to ask for cutlery, napkins and water as there was nothing on the table. And if you need additional napkins - good luck locating any! All dishes had sides of chips which I am pretty certain had been microwaved - soggy and warm! Same for the so called battered fish pieces which both looked and tasted like the chips.

All round a very disappointing experience. Save yourself the trouble and try somewhere else, as the bar couldn't...

A great old English pub that has been around for a long time.

I recently revisited after quite some time had a meal and enjoyed some great entertainment.Everyone I was with enjoyed their meals as did I.

There were a couple of minor issues with the service which didn't ruin the night but were regrettable nonetheless.

Firstly, the specials board was not updated to reflect the unavailability of some items and there was some confusion as to what was available. We were promised a partial refund as a result because we had paid for our order but then were later told that was not possible.

Secondly there was a deal to get free beers with a schnitzel or parmy. Our table ordered 4 of these but were not offered the complimentary drinks when we ordered and when we asked about it received 2 of the 4 beers we should have got.

You will notice the good ratings given to the food and atmosphere so I wouldn't discourage a visit to this Canberra stalwart, it's just the service received on our visit that could have...
