Disappointing experience. We sat down and my partner orders her coffee, then the staff person just starts to walk away. Didn't even bother to ask me for mine. I had to interrupt his quick departure and ask to also order. I asked what the coffee was in the pour over and they didn't know. They were able to tell me, but then followed it up by saying it would probably be better as a long black... Why even have it then for pour over? I tried it anyway, definitely not an amazing pour over, but not terrible at all. Ordered the corn fritters for my partner, but when it arrived it was missing the romesco sauce and radish that was on the menu. I asked about it and was told they didn't have any and would she like hollandaise sauce instead? What a joke. No offer to remedy. They should have refunded this. I gave them feedback later and noticed the romesco was crossed out on the other menus. They still didn't offer any make for this. You seriously can't make or even buy a romesco sauce? My poached eggs on avocado and black beans was very average. Nothing I couldn't make at home. And covered in the very generic balsamic glaze, because that's the only way they could do flavour.... Kind of pathetic. Maybe try a dressing of balsamic, ACV, lime, mustard, EVOO. Doesn't really have an inviting fit out. No plants or greenery inside, it's all MDF or chip board. Clearly quite a cheap fit out. Not that there's anything wrong with cheap, but it can be a little bit...

Cafe Chapter 4 serves excellent takeaway coffee with quick, friendly service, though the space has a few drawbacks.

☕ The coffee was very well made with a strong, rich flavour. They use The Cat’s Pyjamas beans from Seven Miles, which came through beautifully. The only downside was the takeout cup, which felt a bit plain compared to the quality of the drink.

🙂 Staff were welcoming and managed to serve quickly even during a busy period, which made the stop efficient and pleasant.

📍 The location is ideal for nearby apartment residents, making it an easy option for a regular coffee run.

👃 One drawback was a strong smell of cooking oil in the café, which lingered on my clothes for hours even after a short visit — something to keep in mind if staying longer.

Overall, I’d happily return here for the coffee, but probably only for takeaway given the cooking...
