Cinnabar in Canberra, NSW, is an absolute gem! The service was exceptional; the staff was attentive, courteous, and made our dining experience truly memorable. They went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed and made excellent recommendations from their delightful menu.
The Chinese cuisine at Cinnabar was unlike anything we've tasted before. They skillfully infused traditional flavors with exciting twists, resulting in an explosion of taste that left us craving for more. From appetizers to desserts, each dish was a culinary masterpiece that impressed even the most discerning palate.
We had the pleasure of celebrating my sister's birthday at Cinnabar, and it was an excellent decision! The cozy ambiance and welcoming atmosphere made the occasion even more special. The restaurant's location in Canberra is perfect, and it's worth the visit if you're anywhere nearby.

Of the 6 so called courses, 4 of them were entree's which were split between 2 and 3 guests
They did offer 3 mains, however each of them were at best 1/2 to 2/3 size of other mains we saw being served .
We asked for one of the two steamed rice to be replaced by a fried rice - (for which we were advised we had to pay an extra $12 - which I agreed to ) - only the one dish of Fried rice was served..(which was then taken off the bill.)
Table service was almost non existent...
With small servings of food and poor service - I felt is was outrageous that BYO was excluded for their "Voucher" banquets...
Full paying guests should be afforded BYO opportunity.
I cant remember having had a banquet meal of any cuisine from which I left still feeling hungry...
Far too many good value restaurants in Canberra to bother returning...
Read moreI went here on a quiet Thursday evening and sat in a beautiful semi private both. Overall, a lovely experience but can't quite recommend to others as there are better options in Dickson. The decor and plating is very nice, but the standard of food falls short.
I ordered 3 dishs: pork ribs, mushrooms ( there were 4 varieties) and bok choi with rice. The double fried Chinese greens was the most interesting. Most of the dish was stir fried with a large amount of coarsely chopped garlic. Another layer of julienned and deep fried leaves were piled on top ( see pic). The pork ribs were very sweet, the mushrooms very salty and the bok choy neutral tasting but oily. But together with rice, it all worked and tasted nice. I would not think much of the taste as individual dishes.
The service was very prompt and the waitstaff pleasant and helpful. I liked my mojito, very fresh and nice. The cinnamon drink was not that great tasting for me, but there might be others who like it. It...
