I recently stayed here for a few months. Room was directly above a noisy pub with zero noise insulation. When the oven activated the smoke alarm in the room at low temperature near the beginning of my stay, I cleaned it out myself. It took 2 cans of heavy duty oven cleaner and appeared as though it had not been cleaned for years. I showed the reception staff the resulting full bag of black goop-covered paper towels and she was very apologetic. The next day I received a visit from the manager berating me for having the do not disturb sign on my door the previous Monday when a full service was due, putting the blame on me for the filthy oven. Mind you, the oven was not touched by cleaning staff during any other full service. Neither were the floors, pillowcases, or anything else for that matter unless I specifically asked. The shower was not cleaned by staff once during my 6 month stay. I ended up buying mould cleaner myself and scrubbing it. *The 2 other cleaners not assigned to my room who came in twice during my stay were wonderful.
The lift is scarily noisy. Management grumpily asked me to refrain from using it, however I required access due to arthritis and an autoimmune condition.
Management cannot accept criticism, instead turning all complaints back onto the patron. The Manager not once smiled that I was able to observe.
After reading other negative reviews here, with responses from management saying they would take on board the criticism - it's clear nothing is ever done about improving service.
The lack of hygiene standards and customer service reflect very poorly on top management. If management have lost their passion for the job, new prints on the wall won't put a smile on their face. Take a holiday or move on so new management can breathe new life back into the place or the establishment will continue to...

Bed - very aged, sagging in the middle, queen not King as per other Quest apartments we have stayed in, not comfortable at all, needs replacing. Could not sleep on bed for any longer than 4 hours. This Quest is surrounded by many restaurants and bars that back onto the rear laneway, Room 23 overlooks this laneway and is adjacent to a restaurant that has an industrial extractor fan right next to the bedroom, according to my phone the decibel reading average 55 DB , the extractor fan was finally turned off around midnight, so don't plan to go to bed before then. To top it off the many restaurant and bar workers gather in the laneway for their breaks below room 23 and start talking very loud and smoking.. Also the laneway seems to be a shortcut for the many many intoxicated people to get to wherever they're going, this laneway where they cut through is also part of our secure parking area, how can it be secure when they are allowed to wander freely around patrons cars, at an extra cost of $20 per night. Curtains in room 23 do not shut properly and with all the spotlights in the laneway....a very bright room .
Multiple downlights not working throughout the apartment, fire alarm hanging off the roof, toilet roll holder hanging off the wall. Based on our experience in room 23 we will not be recommending this hotel and will not be staying at the this Quest again. For some this hotel may be very convenient however when booking you must ensure you do not get a room that overlooks...
Read moreI do not recommend this hotel if they give you the same room we got! There is a pub downstairs that felt like we were directly on top of the speakers. The base was vibrating through the floor. Coupled with the smokers and revellers gathering outside of the pub, which can be heard through the paper thin balcony doors.
The hotel is in a great location, but they really need to address the problem of the pub downstairs.
The room itself was ok, albeit it quite dated. The cleanliness on the other hand is another story. The bathroom felt dirty and there was mould like stains in the shower. The curtains in both the bedroom and living room needed replacing, there’s holes in some parts and they don’t cover the entire window. Light seeps in as soon as the sun comes up, not the best for a sleep in when the music from the pub has kept you up most of the night.
Would I stay again? Definitely not. Videos attached are from the balcony and the bedroom with external doors closed. You can hear the heavy base and lack of...
