Authentic 'looking' Thai resteraunt, maybe a bit over the top for such a small space, as the space could be utilised far better. Located in a great location south end of the Melbourne building, but the exterior needs a bit if TLC. Food was good but not great, overpriced based on serving size and offerings. Maybe also suggest changing the crockery, very weird choice. Chopsticks should of been bamboo or wooden, not disposable. Place is clearly understaffed as appeared owner was the only one waiting on tables. Although we had our order taken and drinks served quickly, the table next to us hidden behind a pillar had been waiting 45mins for drinks.

If there was an option for a zero.... THIS PLACE deserves it!!! This is easily the place with the worst staff and services in Canberra. With scarce a thought for your customers, or even a shred of respect, how are you allowed to operate with such disdain for your patrons? The worst service in such a fantastically located place must mean that the owners are LOSING money! Could be the reason for such BAD services. Sell this lovely restaurant to people who really love what they are doing and will do it with love and respect for the patrons.

An excellent meal. I was craving something light, with fresh vegetables and a well cooked protein. I walked around Canberra looking and nothing really grabbed me until I remembered Thai food is all of these things. The meal was excellent. The chicken was so scrumptious to pull apart and slowly devour. The salad was spicy and a little tangy, which complimented the chicken really well. Afterward the deep fried banana was really delicious and left me very satisfied. Very happy.

The food at Lemon Grass Thai is really good I can’t deny that, but the service today was just completely out of whack, to begin with the owner who was at the ordering table ignored us. When he finally gave us some acknowledgement he had a very rude mannerism behind him, the kind that said “I’m too busy to deal with you”, I get that time management can be frustrating in hospitality being someone who has worked in the business, but I could see quite clearly that there were other waitresses who were doing nothing i.e. he could have asked them to deal with us at the very least. Anyhow we ordered two Tom kha Gai soups one mild and spicy and he said to us that they’re basically the same, so I asked for two milds instead because one of the soups was for someone who has recently undergone stomach surgery, my partner then asked what the best curry was and the man said he liked the red curry duck, my partner has a nack for eating duck so she asked if they could do chicken instead and he said that’d be fine. Once we finally received our orders and returned home to enjoy our meals we were pretty disappointed when both the soups were spicy Tom kha yum soups which not was the opposite of what we ordered and the wrong soup as well, NOT ONLY did they stuff the soups up but they made the curry with duck instead of chicken. If he had just told us that maybe they didn’t have Tom kha Gai or maybe they couldn’t make the curry with chicken, this wouldn’t have been an issue, but this man decided to act as if we were getting what we had paid for and then he did us dirty on the other side when we had finally gotten home. I’m pretty annoyed because this isn’t the first time something like this has happened at this restaurant but we gave them the benefit of the doubt as the food was pretty yummy, but of course a restaurant is only as good as it’s team and this team really let each...

Unfortunately I had the experience of dining at this place last night. I have previously owned a restaurant and acknowledge and respect unexpected volumes and services glitches that occur in any business.(I dislike people who complain without reason)

we arrived after making a booking. A large table of boisterous men arrived behind us and commanded the attention and service of the waitresses. This ment my wife and I became of minor importance. we finally ordered the meal and wine.

After 20 plus’s minutes and the male orientated table being served first

Our entrees arrived no wine, after making several eye contacts with the waitress she came over and said the wine we ordered was out of stock = we picked another wine.

On serving the wine the waitress told us there were no more wine glasses and would champagne flutes be ok. The wine was a $40 bottle of white. I said no, the waitress smiled and walked away…leaving with champagne flutes.

Main meals came out. Crispy pork dish was soggy as wet bread… Meal was a disaster and service was not existant. our plates remained on the table for 30 minutes after we had finished eating. Paid the $108 for the experience and asked to see the manager / owner (Chris) I was told he was not here and would not be available.

There must always be tolerances when eating out as it is such a personal and emotive experience at least you must try to deliver. this business is taking serious money from the paying public and not event trying to cater as a business. I am sorry to say a poor and unprofessional enterprise Steve...

Service is atrocious. Waitress should consider different employment- incredibly sullen and rude: • We waited 15 mins to order - we were just ignored (they weren't all that busy); • She snatched the menu out of our hands before we'd finished ordering; • wasn't paying attention when we ordered - we got the wrong dish; •brought me the wrong drink, stalked off when I pointed it out (no apology upon return) The food is consistently good but there are plenty of good Thai restaurants around with far better service. Was not an enjoyable experience. Good food is only one part of the equation - without friendly, welcoming service you can guarantee you will lose all your regular customers. We...
