Probably 15 years ago in this humble little Street theatre near ANU i stumbled across an Opera performance programmed there. My very first opera and it being La Boheme. To this s day I'm still blown away by it.....it was like I was in it and I became so emotional... I'm a man and I teared up without shame. I've followed Opera a lot since then in Sydney, Vienna and Florence but though much grander performances of La Boheme l witnessed, the rawness and emotional bonding was not the same as I had in our little Street Theatre.. Interesting more recently at the Canberra Theatre Carman was performed leaving me emotionally drained and loved it. Second time had a bad experience. This time they goofed up with order i.e. instead of 3 big breakfast with a swap of bacon with salmon they took order for 4. When order came they said 4th one is free as it was their mistake and till then it was a swap with no extra cost. But while paying, to our surprise they charged $4 extra on each plate for the bacon to Salmon swap. We didn't confront to say that bacon to Salmon swap was done few times earlier for the same item for no additional cost.

Read moreA consistently great theatre just next to the ANU. It runs a variety of shows year-round. It seats only a few hundred people with a high- quality stage. And you can take drinks in!
The red seating is fold-down but comfortable. The rows are around 12 seats long and the angle of ascent of the rows is high enough to ensure everyone has a good view.
The cafe sells a good selection of wines and beers for its size, and the coffee is good too. They offer student discounts.
The staff at the ticket booth and cafe were friendly and quick...
