Little Steamer — Restaurant in District of Canberra Central

Me and my friends had a fantastic experience at Little Steamer, and were RAVING about it for days. We got a half duck with pancakes! It’s always good fun to wrap your own pancake and they were delicious. The duck was delicate, flavoursome and went really well with the cucumber, hoisin sauce and spring onions inside the pancake. It was great value for a duck, plus it came with a choice of noodles, fried rice or soup. We got the noodles which were soft and contained the gorgeous duck. my first glance in there reminds me of the good old days in Shanghai, but the plastic dishes and cups kicks me back to the reality. the lion's head has strong scents of chinese five-spice. though not my favorite, it is ok. the little steam bun is somehow unsatisfactory. it's machine-made and suspected from frozen food. the skin is thick and hard and the pork is not bad but not giving any good feeling. the chicken feet are better but i prefer a more creamy texture. the veggie tastes good. perhaps its not a good place for a meal...

I went with some friends here, they have only been opened for 6 weeks. The food was delicious. The interior & ambience were nice, I like the lighting, so bright and modern. It has modern feel compared with other Chinese restaurants around town.

The service was really good. The owner was very friendly and smiley too. I just don't get this in other "typical" Chinese restaurants.

They do BYO and charge $5/person.

Highly recommend this place and we'll go...
