Midnight Bar — Restaurant in District of Canberra Central

We went for Melbourne Cup. We enjoyed the Taittinger … we arrived early couldn’t until Exactly 12.30… I heard staff saying “you need to wait 11 minutes”. A purple cocktail was served… staff couldn’t tell us what it was… for $160 a cheese plate, 2 sliders, 2 lobster rolls, 4 arancini balls and two small chocolate tarts wasn’t great value. There was a buffet for corporate guests but this wasn’t explained to us. We felt like we were just tagging along on someone’s corporate event and for $160 you want to feel included in the day. Sweeps were poorly organised we were only offered two tickets in the $20 sweep… no fashion show, but the corporate group did vote for their own in house best dressed and we were expected to listen to their drivel even though it didn’t pertain to us. …I would not book again… we arrived at 12:30 and all our food was rushed out and served by 1 pm. Then NOTHING . Our Taittinger glasses were half filled most times and had to go to the bar…...

Looking from a midweek snack?? Or any day of the week for that matter…Look no further than this place!! …Serving up some amazing dishes and drinks 🍸 . We tried:

While we savoured all dishes, our favourite was the grilled chicken sandwich, which we unfortunately did not take a photo of 🤪. But if you are a fan of sandos, like I am, definitely recommend for you to try!

The staff are lovely and the service is both attentive and friendly. They’ve got a nice seating area both indoor and outdoor. The space opens up which lets some fresh breeze into the venue which is really lovely...
