These people are absolute geniuses. The only place I eat pizza from in Canberra when I’m not in a cheapskate Dominos mood. Seriously dont bother with anywhere else in Canberra cause it will cost you the same if not more and won’t even be remotely as good (especially Vapianos - avoid that pizza like the plague!). The quality is incredible! A beautiful thin crust that still soft but got a couple crispy wood fired bits which I love, best sauce recipe I’ve ever tasted, on point ratio of cheese to sauce which is soooo important and for some reason so one else can get right & perfect amount of spices/herbs salt and pepper. I trust them complacently - every single time I’ve gone they have been reliable in their taste and quality. Nothing is overpowering about the pizza, all elements work really harmoniously together. It doesn’t leave you feeling bloated or stodgy or like you’ve just done damage to your body. No kidding its a work of art and perfection - all food should be held to this standard, they should be really proud. Also not only is their product the best but the people are so lovely. Ordered a pizza tonight and the girl who I picked up from was a really nice girl who was I shared a couple of remarks with on my way out. And she still called me by name because she remembered from when she gave me my pizza which I was pretty impressed with because it made it more personal and welcoming (its a really small thing to do but made a difference - dont know her name but girl with dark short hair you’re a good asset to your boss :) ) I know its an essay but as a whole can’t go wrong with this place - Seriously...
Read moreI’ve always raved about this place to family and friends, eagerly sharing my love for their pizzas, so I was excited to return to Canberra and revisit an old favorite for one of my evening meals. Unfortunately, my recent experience left me quite disappointed.
The Truffle Fungi pizza, which I was particularly looking forward to (can’t tell you how many times I have preferred this over the years), lacked any trace of truffle flavour. Instead, it was nothing more than a basic mushroom pizza on a tomato base—bland, tasteless, and far from what I had previously enjoyed. The Pizza Bianca was another letdown. While it did have a hint of flavor, it was overwhelmingly dry, with little more than dough, a sprinkle of salt, and a very sparse amount of herbs. To make matters worse, it was overcooked and burnt, which only added to the disappointment.
This used to be a go-to spot for me, but it seems like something has seriously changed—possibly new ownership or management. The passion and attention to detail that once made their pizzas exceptional appear to be missing. I hope they can return to the high standards that made them a favourite, but for now, I’m left...
Read moreJust wanted to share my 5-star experience last night - it was a random Thursday afternoon and I was craving potato on a pizza with some rosemary & garlic. Who knew that was a combination and Pizza Gusto fit the bill! Mind you the ACT was in a Covid-19 lockdown, so it was take away only. I placed a phone order and the pizza was ready for me within the 25 minutes it was promised to me for pickup. I did the covid check-in and the lovely fellow at the service desk took my payment, showed me the total on Square and printed me a receipt. And thanked me for checking in. Other than the pleasant service, the pizza is great - (and I am a fussy customer 😆) I ordered a half n' half pizza - half 4 seasons (salami, eggplant, mushroom & olive) and half potato. SO GOOD. High quality fresh ingredients, soft & thin floaty crust (very thin crust ok) which was right up my alley. I could eat Pizza Gusto every day 😊 Thanks for a...
