A Moo-velous Start to 2025: The Moowingsteak Review
Picture this: Itâs New Yearâs Day, youâre in ACT, and Google gently nudges you toward an alley food truck called Moowingsteak. At first, you're thinking, "Steak... in an alley? Is this where dreams are made or where they go to die?" Spoiler alert: Itâs where steak dreams come true.
We kicked off our new year gastronomic adventure by ordering the chef-recommended sirloin steak, and oh moo-my, it was worth every bite. This steak didnât just melt in your mouth; it moonwalked its way across your taste buds with savory elegance. The flavor? Itâs like the chef bottled the essence of pure bliss and poured it all over the meat. Iâm pretty sure the cow would be proud of its noble contribution.
The ambiance is, well, alley-chic. Who knew dining under the stars next to some graffiti could feel so... refined? Honestly, it was the most glamorous alleyway experience of my life. Plus, there's something wildly satisfying about eating a steak while leaning on a parked bicycle. Michelin-star restaurants could never.
The service was udderly fantastic. The chef wasnât just a chefâhe was a steak educator, a flavor philosopher, and a passionate meat enthusiast. He explained the nuances of every cut like he was narrating a steak documentary. Honestly, I left smarter, full, and oddly inspired.
Final verdict: The Moowingsteak is a rare gem (pun intended). If youâre in Canberra and you donât swing by, youâre missing out on a moo-numental experience. Trust me, your taste buds and 2025 self will thank you.
Rating: âââââ Recommendation: Come for the steak, stay for the vibe, and leave with no regrets (and maybe a little steak juice on...

Night 1: Ordered Steak & Chips and it was quite delicious. However the Fried Chicken Momo was incredibly dry & chalky. Covered in darkened black burnt bits.
Night 2: I figured the chips were great and their burgers looked good as I waited in the freezing cold night 1 - i'll give it another chance. Ordered the Wagyu burger as it's supposedly their most popular. I might imagine the meat tastes good - but I wouldn't be able to say for sure as it was completely smothered & flooded with a super tangy and spicy sauce. Their steak burger mentions a chilli sauce - but the Wagyu burger menu item certainly did not. To add to this the lettuce and tomato was so cold that it felt like it had come out the freezer. The bun was completely wet from both the drenched produce and the water like consistency chilli sauce that wasn't anticipated or advertised. I had a few bites, finished the chips, and it was too cold to go back and complain so i've written this review in hope it helps them or someone else.
Avoid the fried Momo - the steam would have probably been fine. Inquire about the addition of chilli sauces to menu items that don't denote it. Steak &...
