The only way this place is getting a higher review than it is when I see more than just a phoney type of cafe that shoves its customers and staff to the side.
I have been to this cafe multiple times yet there had alway been one thing or another that has made my time eating and waiting here unbearable. From the food being either stale, cold or underwhelming to the amount of staff attention and care of the how shop floor looks it has been a disgrace.
The food has improved from a couple months back but it has only gotten more expensive. I am not looking to buy a eggs benedict and expect to be pay an extra coffee worth for ham. Another thing that needs improvement is coffee quality and the teaching for the staff. Multiple occasions, it has either been burnt, too foamy or out right bitter and each time I ask to get it fix it becomes an ordeal. I know its never the cafe personal fault but I would like the owner to man up and get some more barista training and have maintenance on the machine as it clearly isn’t be held to a standard.
Another thing, I remember when this place was full of staff member but now as I enter, I’m greated by a load of nothing and barely a person at all on the register let alone someone taking/making food out. I have stood for a great 20-30 minutes for a banana bread due to the low amount of people on the floor, and yet when I see the person in charge he is either in the back or standing with us acting as a response tablet, rather than giving a helping hand to the people he has employed. Yet again, I have seen him also degrade and bully his own staff about many useless type of chores that can be done by himself or at another time when it is not busy.
Witnessing this type of behaviour from coworkers is another thing, BUT FROM A MANAGER AND BUSINESS OWNER IS APPALLING!
I hope this place soon hears on how much the public knows about its practices within its wall, as many of my associates and now myself have put complaints in on how manage is all handling this, and yet to find that nothing has been done. And by the looks of it and from hearing the whispers from others, it needs to improve, otherwise it will be one of the biggest cafe in the Fyshwick area to...
Read moreNever been to this Cafè before and wanted to give it a go as it has great ratings.
The atmosphere l felt was business meeting like, but was very clean in the cafè.
The service was somewhat strange from the young man as he took our order for coffee's and when he brought them out he knew we wanted food and had the menus in our hands but turned and walked away, I did call him back and took our orders.
The coffee's ordered were meant to be skim cappuccinos but they were more like coffee with milk.
The food was plonked on the table by the young man and walked off, I had to fetch for our cutlery as he didn't give us any. The food though was pretty good and serving size was very reasonable. I ordered the White Choc Waffles but I am not sure where the white chocolate was.
All in all it wasn't the greatest Cafè experience for us and could of just been an off day but if you are after a decent feed this place won't disappoint with...
Read moreOne of my absolute favourite go-tos for food, staff, coffee - and I love the industrial location, with its glass house vibe and breezy, leafy terrace. The emphasis on the best, freshest, tastiest, healthy ingredients, cooked with a very deft touch, is passionately driven and executed by the team - there are always low carb and veg driven options that makes Plumb a standout in the crowd. Heaps of delicious 'tradie treats' too, like the fantastic big brekkie and burgers. The mushrooms on Sonoma soudough with thyme and poached eggs (cooked to perfection!) will always draw me back, as will the smoothies - full of vitality and goodness. Always hanging out for...
