Many options in their menu, unfortunately the food wasn't meet the expectation. We ordered Big brekkie and Pancake. Big brekkie was alright, but the pancake was disappointed, there are 3 slices of pancakes, but served me with a side of burned pancake (which they turned over the burned side pancake under, and the another side on top to faced customer was fine). We also ordered large Almond latte, the coffee taste so bad and doesn't taste almond at all, we double check with the young waitress with blonde hair. She said it was almond, she said she help us double check with the barista. But for me just an excuse, she didn't come back to us, just stayed at counter. (In the meantime no waiter or waitress come to concern about the food or beverage is that everything alright?, I'm curious why a cafe need hired so many front staffs when there is not busy and no one pay attention to customers?? )
** 1 star for the historical environment ** 1 star for the waitress, who came to us when we almost to leave, she asked about the 'almond latte' because we only had a sip with the coffee. So I decided to tell her what's going on with the coffee, and we accepted her apology and would replace a new 1 for us. But we decided not to, cos the brekkie n coffee already...
Read moreAPPALLING! What a wolf in sheep's clothing; the venue is new and comfortable but the service and quality of food and drinks leaves MUCH to be desired.
Firstly, the girl taking our order didn't know how to use the computer system for their limited menu choices. That was...interesting.
We were also dining in and specifically asked for our coffees in mugs. However, we received luke-warm, overly milky, weak coffees in takeaway cups?! When asked, they gave some poor excuse about the dishboy being late? Poor form to be honest. Also ,what a waste of resources.
Our meals all arrived at different times which meant that one of our party's meals didn't arrive until some of us had finished! Big no-no! Might have been understandable if the place was packed and they were short of staff but it was full of workers. So perplexing! The meals were nothing special and felt a little cold. I think they just warmed the plate before serving, really.
The servers set down our plates quite roughly and without care. Honestly, you get the impression that the staff don't want to be here and are odious as a result.
Such a shame that this place services our National War Memorial (which itself is lovely). Do yourself a favour and eat...
Read moreThis place is just horrible. There was rubbish and left overs all over the tables. The floor wasn't much better. They obviously buy their sandwiches from Seven Eleven, the quality is exactly the same but it includes a 200% mark up and for the ham and cheese toastie our 5yo ordered it came with 1 paper thin slice of ham and the cheese wasn't even melted. She could have made a better one herself; and wouldn't have taken nearly 40 minutes to do it either. $15 for a pie (no I'm not kidding) that was basically a bowl of mince with a tablespoon of frozen vegetables in gravox covered in a sheet of homebrand puff pastry with some sesame seeds for good measure. I could not possibly find one single thing nice thing to say about this place, even the staff are unfriendly and couldn't care less which is reflected in everything in this place. This place is an absolute disgrace. The fact that it shares the grounds of one of our country's most sacred national monuments should be a source of national embarrassment. Seriously I've had far better food served at primary school...
