I bought 2 custard doughnuts yesterday from the cafe and ate 1 of it at night. Most part of the doughnut was fine but there was a part that had uncooked dough. At first we ate on thinking that the soggy part was custard but it tasted bitter and not quite right so upon closer examination, we realised that it was uncooked dough. It was in the part closest to the center of the doughnut so it may not have had enough time in the fryer. When I called the cafe to inform them of the issue, all I got was someone who was more concerned with blatantly denying anything was wrong with the product than finding out about my experience. In her own words, "you might get sick eating bad custard, BUT you cannot get sick eating uncooked dough". I would have accepted an apology or a refund. Because of the nonchalant behaviour of your staff in regard to this food safety issue, I had to post a review. I sent a message to your facebook page and expected an answer, but no, no reply. I certainly hope that my feedback can be passed on to the kitchen. I husband had a loss of appetite for the whole of today and vomited once last night after having the doughnut.

We go there to grab brunch and some pastries. We had the Veal Campagnola and bruschetta with salmon. The veal was good, nothing special, it was a nice portion. With multiple flavors The salmon bruschetta was a bit disappointing, it was flavorless and dry. Not sure if this is the way they will serve it in Italy. They have a variety of pastries, make sure you take the one the look the freshest, cuz some of them look like they have been sitting there for a while...

One of my favourite coffee shops in the southside of Canberra. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, which I cannot say for all cafes in Canberra. There are a wide range of beautiful Italian pastries on offer. But if you come later in the afternoon you are faced with empty cabinets, which highlights the popularity of the place. Coffee is pretty good and is serviced at the ideal temperature. The staff are friendly. All in all your visit is first class experience.

I’ve been staying in the area and checking out different cafes to find the best coffee. The actual coffee/espresso is the best that I have so far found, however the customer service has left me sick and disappointed and unlikely to return. I cannot have dairy milk (NOT lactose free, I can only drink non dairy milk due to severe gut reactions), but am very clear when I order that all coffees need to be with almond milk. One order had me leaving with one almond milk and one soy milk coffee, and today I paid for almond milk and received normal full cream (only discovered this when I arrived back at home and could not take it back for a correction). I know I need to be fussy about my milk so I triple checked that I ordered almond milk, however the attendant seemed to dismiss this and asked me twice if either coffee needed sugar. I strongly indicated no sugar at every opportunity, and reinforced that I needed almond milk only, no sugar no dairy - and still was given a full cream milk coffee. This business has such promise, and makes excellent espresso - however they need to pay closer attention to what I am trying to order, and not bothering me constantly with whether or not I...

Food is really good and I've been coming here for years, however the service recently has been very poor. Younger staff need customer service training.

When we went there we bought two soft drinks and received only one warm glass. I went to ask for another glass and some ice. The server then told me that I needed to buy more soft drinks if I wanted any ice. She finally gave me ice but that's only after I had to point out we already purchased the drinks.

Secondly, my table of 4 ordered 4 meals. Two meals arrived within reasonable amount of time, the 3rd meal arrived 10 minutes later which was still within the reigns of adequate meal service times. Only after alerting the staff twice, our 4th meal arrived 20 minutes after the 3rd meal. By the time it arrived we had completely finished 3 of the meals. We didn't get any refund, no explanation for the delay and only a very sub par apology from the bus girl, none from the more experienced service staff.

I really like the venue and the food is always so tasty, however I'm writing this review in hope that this will encourage Italian Continental Bakery to train their staff in better...
