Bhutanese Food Gem! 4.8 on Google Maps Doesn’t Lie ✨

While it’s the first Bhutanese restaurant in Canberra, it lives up to the name that’s attached to “Druk”, that’s purely and truly Bhutanese. The food’s yum yum and the service perfecto and chop chop…simply mind-blowing, only expected of the Bhutanese lots. Enjoyed the food and hospitality to its last bit and the most of all, the soulful Bhutanese music lilting in the background only added a unique Bhutanese flavour, making us miss home to its very core. And to the non-Bhutanese lots out there, please go visit this amazing restaurant to steal a glimpse of “Bhutan”, the last shangrila on earth and its happy people. ps (adding this today after a year or two of leaving this review): If only the restaurant could serve online orders better. From my experience and those of my close ones, the deliveries lack the same taste and fervour like dining in the restaurant itself and it’s happened repeatedly. Or worse, they mess up the order. Just yesterday, I ordered egg spaghetti with other dishes. The egg spaghetti was bland and no salt at all. So overall, these are a little bits and pieces the restaurant needs to pay attention to.

Found this gem while looking for a restaurant on the way back to the city from Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve! The food was absolutely delicious and the service was wonderful - I’d highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to try something new! We ordered a lot of food & had many leftovers to take home.

There were a lot of options for vegetarians & a warning that many items are marked as spicy. The crispy chili chips were delicious but you’ll need a high spice tolerance!

We also ordered the vegetarian momos, Suja, dried pork datshi & pork rib paa (plus rice and naan). The dried pork (either in the paa or datshi) is definitely something you should try! It’s slightly chewy with great flavour. The server also told me they dry it in house so how can you resist? I didn’t think the datshi and paa were too spicy (compared to the chips anyway) so don’t let that deter you from trying them.

I’ve only ever had Bhutanese momos before and I’m so glad I found this restaurant so I could try more Bhutanese food. It had lovely decor, ambience & it...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at food restaurant in Canberra, and I must say it was a delightful experience. The menu offered a fantastic array of authentic dishes, showcasing the rich flavours and vibrant spices of the region. I couldn't resist trying the momo, and they exceeded my expectations with their perfectly steamed dumplings filled with juice . Each dish was expertly prepared, featuring a harmonious blend of spices that created a symphony of flavours. The attentive and knowledgeable staff made the experience even more enjoyable, readily offering recommendations and ensuring that my dining experience was exceptional. In conclusion, this Bhutanese/ Nepali food restaurant in Canberra offers a true culinary gem, delivering an authentic taste of Bhutanese in a welcoming setting. Whether you are a fan of cuisine or curious to explore new flavours, this restaurant is a must-visit for...
