Golden King Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in District of Woden Valley

Ordered via Menulog at 5.40pm for delivery. Received confirmation email & text that dinner would be arriving at 7pm. An hour and twenty minutes on a Friday night? They must be busy! 7.15 rolls round, I give them a ring to see where my food is. Get told it’s on its way. I live 5 minutes from the restaurant so I get the kids ready for dinner. 7.45 rolls round and STILL no food so I ring them again. Get passed around the restaurant, tell 4 different people my address, get told the order never came through from menu log and I should ring them, that the order was never printed and a multitude of other excuses. I request a refund and shock horror, my order drops in from menulog and I’m told my dinner will be arriving in 20 minutes. Would like to tell how it is but I’m still waiting... never ordering from here EVER again. Little tip - don’t lie to your paying customers when they have a trail of...

Our entree was dim sums and spring rolls - great.

Main was satay pork, honey king prawns, lemon chicken and special fried rice. Everything was tasty, we really enjoyed it. My partner said he much prefered it than other more expensive Chinese restaurants we went to in the area previously.

What I enjoyed most is the atmosphere. Low key, wonderful staff (even the chef comes out smiling and says hello) and a wonderful family atmosphere. I can not say enough how much I loved this place.

I was dragged out for dinner but was just in love with this place, did not want to leave. Left with a couple of moon cakes, yum. We were lucky enough to get samples of their moon cakes.

I won't rave on anymore. But recommend everyone tries...

I brought a Barramundi to the restaurant for deep fired dish as well as paying the owner $30 for their service. However, I have only got deep fried fish bones and minimal fish meat under the fish skin. It was 1.741kgs Barramundi. The owner has advised me to deep fried the fish by splitting from the middle. As a result, the owner has stolen at least 1/2 fish meat when still charging me $30 for his service. It is so disgusting and disgraceful behavior even though I have been with their restaurant since 2010. Personally, I will never go back to this restaurant.
