We were out walking the dog this morning and came across the Cool Room. We managed to find a seat outside at one of the retro tables with a retro sun umbrella and realised that just about every table had at least one dog laying beneath it. Honey, our super cool Whippet, was greated by a small oodle of some variety. I walked to the counter to order and noticed a few of the customers sitting at the inside tables were tucking into some very nice looking meals. While I waited the short time to be served I noticed the cakes on display, I wasn't hungry but was swayed to order the gluten free carrot cake as it looked spectacular. For my wife I ordered a Almond Friand. When I returned to the table Honey had layed down under the table on the synthetic lawn. This is the first time at a cafe that she has not been anxious. The cakes were delivered to the table just after I sat down and the coffee and tea arrived soon after. The tea pot was huge, awesome value for money. Tea cup was a gorgeous antique, probably from the shop next door. Coffee was very nice. Lovely friendly staff. The meals coming out for other customers were large and looked fantastic, we made plans to return tomorrow for lunch. Such a relaxing venue not surprising it was busy but still had a few spare tables. We will definitely be returning again. If you are not a fan of dogs there are plenty of tables inside or choose a table away from the k9's as this is definitely a dog...
Read moreThe Cool Room Cafe in Fremantle is a charming spot with a laid-back, casual atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at ease. The quirky use of recycled furniture and decor adds to its unique charm and gives the space a distinctly Fremantle vibe. It’s clear a lot of thought has gone into creating an inviting and sustainable environment.
The menu offers a selection of delicious options, though I’d love to see a few more cold choices, like a Bircher muesli, to round out the offerings. There are also a handful of tasty pastries to enjoy, perfect for a quick snack. Their coffee is excellent—well-crafted and ticking all the boxes for your standard favourites.
We visited on a busy morning and were advised upfront about a bit of a wait for food, which we appreciated. When the food did arrive, it was well worth it. The bread stood out, particularly a grilled focaccia that was just divine—crispy, flavourful, and a perfect base for the dishes.
Overall, The Cool Room Cafe is a delightful find. It’s the kind of place you’re glad to stumble across, with its warm atmosphere and satisfying menu. If you visit, I’d highly recommend having a stroll through the vintage store next door—it’s a fun extension of the Cool Room’s eclectic charm. Definitely...
Read moreSuch a moorish and unpretentious feel (a good thing) when you step into the cafe, giving a comforting vibe that greets you the moment you step in. The folks are kind, helpful and full of smiles. We ordered the : Smoked Salmon : The goats cheese and beetroot relish combined well with the smoked salmon. The poached eggs were done well - nice and runny, which when eaten all together was very refreshing, with a fusion of flavours playing on the palate. Haloumi Bruschetta : The herb salad was so good. Simple but yet bang! Haloumi was cooked well, not too salty but just right! Good texture, play of colours, and breadth. All in all, portions were great - 2 generous pieces of buttered bread; lots of greens that brought zing and colour. I also liked the fact that the menu was minimalistic allowing the folks to focus and do justice to what was...
