I’ve been a big fan of Ace Wasabi for going on 15 years now, and unfortunately I’ve seen the quality of both the sushi & dine in experience degrade over time. From my first time enjoying the overwhelming welcoming feelings as the staff would yell their welcome every time a patron entered, fussing over whether or not I wanted to order anything specific and given free miso - to now walking in to dulled grunts, and being asked if I want a drink. The train was almost completely empty and not once did the “chef(s)” even acknowledge my existence. I was the only patron there in person, so I really don’t believe at least being asked if there was anything I’d like would have too much to ask? We had several takeaways from this place over the past months and most have been nice. Have had at least 3 incorrectly made orders though and one night waited for nearly an hour to find out they'd forgotten my sons order. Our last order sadly had a long black hair in the rice! We all have short hair. Phoned up and they apologised and said we could have a free meal when next ordering. Tried to get that free meal tonight but the guy who answered phone said he knew nothing about it and didn't seem keen to help. We cancelled order. Freshly made, right under your eyes, by these amazing ladies, that work very hard and make sure they always answer with a smile and do their best to accommodate any requests. The place is 8 to 10 min drive feom Broadbeach. In my opinion, one if the beat sushi I have ever had. This is a sushi bar, so you will have the plates you can choose from or you can just order directly. I loved trying different things and everything was very tasty. you have to try the Mochi icecream as well, as it is delicious.
