Hands down my favorite Indian on the Gold Coast. I've seen some negative reviews before posting this, complaining about things being in authentic, or cooked differently to how someone would cook it themselves, but I think they're being a bit picky when you consider:
The food tastes amazing.
My parents come here every week, they order the same thing, because it's delicious. They have never had a bad experience. Whenever we visit my parents, we come here for dinner. The food is amazing, has a great flavor, the service is great, and the meals are not expensive. I am astounded when I walk past the restaurant next door, overflowing, with dishes that don't look all that great, and Aromas of India is almost empty.
My father hand the Bhuna Ghost Masala, and that was my favorite. I had the Lamb Rogan Josh, which was my second favorite, and I believe my brother had a Lamb Madras, which he considered his favorite. I'd also recommend getting the naans crispy, as they are light and delicious, as well as getting the vegetable samosas. We've had samosa at other restaurants before, but they were always a little thick and dry, but the samosa here are much more like the ones I've had in India, light, and delicious. Well worth trying.
At the end of the day, you come to a restaurant to eat food you don't make at home, and you expect it to be delicious. The food at this restaurant is delicious, and its well priced, and it's well staffed, and it's well located. I have 0 complaints about it. Can't say how well it travels for delivery, but there's always apparently seats to go and dine in - which is 100% what I would...
Read moreI have to review Aromas after having a 100% satisfaction rate for the past 2 or more years!!! We are Indian food lovers, and had experienced very much ‘hit and miss’ over the last decade or so, but we recommended to try Aromas by an expert in Indian cooking, so up we went. We have been back at least once a week since, and I can honestly say I’ve not had even an average meal, let alone a bad meal there ever! Myself, my husband, sons, daughter in laws, best friends and anyone who would listen, have all eaten probably everything on the menu! My favourites are the goat curry, chicken saag, chicken madras. Husband loves the vindaloo, the lamb bhuna gosht. Kids love the korma, friends love the tandoori! Naans are all great, and we especially love the saffron rice. My friend even has chips! Amar and his team are a well oiled machine. Last night the restaurant was full ( we had a table for 11) and the service was quick, the food was perfect, an effortless success outside the kitchen from the A team in the kitchen!! I would eat there every night with no issues at all, my life’s final meal would be the goat curry I think! If you’re in the area, or even if you’re not , come and give this very unassuming jewel in a very small, local shopping centre crown a try. You...
Read moreI've smelled the aromas many time while at the shopping complex and after a few years decided to give it a go. I ordered Lamb Rogan Josh, Prawn Jalfresi and Tandoori chicken. I have NEVER had a Rogan Josh in my life with cream in the sauce including in India. The base flavour was not your typical Rogan Josh and I don't think the cream was to blame. I don't know if this was the right dish at all. The prawn dish had about 6 prawns in it for $22 and the tandoori chicken was the right flavour but quite dry. It was not without flavour but I'm not sure why the first two dishes contained cream as the Indian restaurants I have worked at didn't make it this way nor the recipes I have found on the internet. The Roti and Naan were good that's why I've given the review 2 stars and not 1. I'll cook at...
