Got myself a hot chocolate today and sat down to drink it at the cafe. My work colleague joined me with subway from next door, half way through my drink we were asked to leave and take the subway elsewhere. I explained to the manager (I assume) that I had purchased a drink from the cafe and was still drinking it, he replied “I don’t care mate that’s not how it works, leave please”. I Thought small local business’ would support eachother more after all we’ve had this year. There were plenty of spare tables for other customers and no reason for us to be asked to leave. Worst customer service I’ve ever encountered and certainly most entitled waiter. They even forgot my marshmallows. Lady that served me was awesome. She’d be more suited to be the face of the cafe in my opinion

Completely understand if the place was busy and we had both sat down with food from elsewhere, but the fact that I had actually purchased from you made me a customer. My work colleague was at the same table making no difference if I had sat down by myself or with him. Sad that you don’t allow your customers to sit at your cafe unless they are alone. Read moreI have been a loyal patron of Base Cafe for over a decade, but my most recent visit has left me utterly appalled. Today, I encountered a new staff member who was not only unhelpful but downright arrogant and condescending.
When a young woman at the counter asked for assistance with charging a meal, instead of offering guidance, this so-called "head person" dismissed her and teated me with an air of superiority that was shocking. It’s hard to believe that someone in a leadership position would exhibit such a lack of professionalism and basic courtesy.
The way this staff member spoke was not just rude; it was downright demeaning. I’ve never experienced such a lack of respect in all my years as a customer. This incident has completely shattered the relationship I once valued with this establishment.
If this is how Base Cafe treats its long term patrons, I can’t in good conscience recommend it to anyone. It’s disheartening to see a place I loved lack...

response to owner: nope, we ordered at the same time. nothing necessarily bad with customer service there just wasn't any, no one checking on meals, didn't say anything when the food was dropped, etc. food was okay, just was on the dry side
2nd response to owner: we may have not paid together but we placed our orders back to back at the same table, wouldn’t this be counted as ordering at the same time and sent to the kitchen like a min apart?
