We enjoyed a wonderful celebratory lunch at Omeros Fishbar. Whilst the rating provided was 5 out of 5 the experience was not without some critical observation. The service from a lady server and a male somelier was outstanding. They were friendly, helpful, non obtrusive, thoughtful and at the same time approachable. The restaurant is obviously a step up from many but the starchiness of many staff in good restaurants was not visible in any way. It was refreshing and warming. The food we ordered comprised of scallops, fish chowder, octopus with a creme brulee to follow as well as a deep fried ice cream. Check the menu out online for a detailed description of the dishes but in summation, the food was fabulous. We ordered entree sizes to ensure our stomachs could cope with what the mind thought it was capable of. To be honest, three scallops was one too few I feel. But they were outstanding. The chowder was a little thin and not really chunky. It was more of a bisque but again, it tasted like an angels breath so it stands as an opinion and observation. The octopus has jumped to the top of my list for last meals were I sitting on death row and the hangman was standing at the door to my cell asking for last requests. The creme brulee was the epitome of sumptuousness and should have a warning issued with it stating the consumer may suffer from overwhelming feelings of joy. The deep fried ice cream should again come with a warning stating that after eating no other dessert would ever come close. And I am not really a dessert person but so pleased I relented at Omeros. The tables were clean and beautifully laid out. There is outdoor and indoor seating. We were outdoor which meant we were subjected to the noise coming from the next door fast food establishment. So chose your spot based on what style of atmosphere you would like. Overall, Impressed...

We dined here on a Tuesday night in April as a group of 4. After standing at the doorway for quite some time and having several staff ignore us, we found a vacant 4-seat table and sat down – we already had a reservation and were on time, plus it was the only table available. At some stage someone came over and told us the table was reserved, and when we provided our reservation name we were told we would be seated inside when the table was vacated and cleared, but as it was very noisy inside and we would have had to wait longer, we declined in favour of the outside table.

I would like to say that service improved, but it did not. On one occasion we enquired about ordering something and were told they had to get someone else, as if it would be too hard to write a simple order down instead of cleaning an adjacent table. On another occasion after drinks were served, we asked to order starters, only for the waitress to instead decide it would be appropriate to pour the water before taking the order. About the only person who seemed competent was the manager.

Fear not, for the entire experience was not ruined. The food was very good and it certainly lived up to the Omeros name. I was especially impressed with the Seafood Chowder, which was a starter, it would have been lovely in a main size with some crusty bread!

An observation from the night would be that they were run off their feet, but they perhaps wouldn't have such a problem if they hadn't crammed quite so many tables into the inside space as they had. The noise in there was deafening and I was glad we had spotted an outside...

I love seafood as well as enjoy wonderful dishes and service at a well setting up eating place just like everyone.

[Omeros Fishbar] is definitely a [HIDDEN GEM] anyone could ever experiening for the amazing food and sincere service they are presenting everyday and they are located at a nice suburb, [Benowa] at GC.

I have visited this place for several times with my wife and our aim is going through the [entire menu😋]....the Menu and, especially the [Daily Special ] is just outstanding!

In fact , [The Omeros Fishbar Team, both kitchen & floor] leading by charming Ingrid and her family is just so good in all aspects.

They are [SIMPLY THE BEST] ......better than anyone......better than anyone I have known.

Thank you very much for always looking after me and my wife.

Highly recommended this place for all food lovers! 👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️😊😊😊

LASTLY, KEEP IT UP. THANK YOU SO...

It’s okay but it’s not good. Seafood chowder has started to seperate probably because it was so watery not creamy. They didn’t clean the bug whether that’s supplier or fresh still a concern. Portion sizes small $21 for seafood chowder entre size so I got the $3.5 garlic bread which is 1 singular piece. I think they want to be fine dining but on pub quality food. It’s a shame. It’s far too over priced for the quality. The front of house seriously need some training not just on their service but to have a smile too. It did the job in feeding us, but we wouldn’t come back. Also don’t just bring over a dessert menu and slap it on the table. Just needs better skills, better food. I suppose it is just a off the mall down the side type of place, absolutely not worth what they are rated now and don’t be fooled. Thanks.
