Very disappointing experience. We ordered 2 coffees. There was another couple who ordered in front of us, 2 coffees. The coffees took a long time to come out even though the cafe was empty with 4 staff chit chatting. The gentleman from the other couple waived out for attention and he was ignored. Obviously too. Finally we received one coffee and the other couple received one, a few minutes later my coffee was delivered and one to the other lady. My coffee was just warm, when I took it back instead of making me a new one they microwaved it and returned to the table so hot I burnt my hand on the cup. I returned my coffee to the counter, the man making the coffee was so rude, I said to him it was really disappointing service and he scoffed back at me oh well this is how we operate! What kind of cafe operates on charging $6+ per coffee, providing it cold, then microwaving it when returned and then being rude about it. The couple next to us also commented on how bad the experience was. Most cafes operate by providing good coffee, good service and good food...... MASSIVE FAIL.......if the owner is the person making the coffees, shame on you, and if the owner is reading this and not that person......this man is losing...
Read moreI have been a loyal daily customer for coffee over the last year. Today I decided to bring my daughter for lunch. I asked what sandwiches were available, the owner pointed to a Turkish bread sandwich with lots of salad and said it was Turkey, so I ordered. What arrived was not what was pointed out but Turkey and cranberry toastie and did not look appetising. I asked the waiter if he could change the other sandwich, he was lovely and polite. The owner then stormed over and gave me an absolute mouthful that my communication was not clear enough and therefore she wouldn’t be changing the sandwich over. At this point, it wasn’t really about the sandwich, she was more interested in raising her voice and repeatedly telling me how she couldn’t afford to change the sandwich over, her business could not afford to exchange my order. I explained it wasn’t what I had ordered calmly and please don’t speak to me so rudely, and also maybe stop being so mean to your staff too. I hope she reflects on this interaction and is kinder to her loyal customers and staff in the future! Finally, the toastie I was given was not fit for consumption...
Read moreIn 15 years being involved with restaurant ownership and also frequenting cafes and restaurants I have never heard of or been asked to leave simply for sitting having a coffee for about 45 minutes whilst on laptop. I have bought food and coffee at this cafe regularly for the past year+ and also recommended this cafe to people and was just asked to leave in a not full cafe because I am sitting on my laptop. This owner does not understand hospitality or service. She could have politely asked me to leave if it got busy for lunch (it was not full), she could have politely spoken in general. Instead she came up with no warning and told me to go to my office. lol! Then publicly stated she is kicking me out now. I don't think I've ever experienced somebody so unqualified to be in customer service, or so unnecessary rude with absolutely no reason or provocation. I am shocked and also annoyed as I regularly purchase coffee there (usually take away, so not even taking up any space!) and have now been unceremoniously removed while enjoying my coffee and reading /studying online in a quiet cafe....
