Cafe Tahbella — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

Decided to try this place based on the “kid friendly” recommendations. The service was super friendly and the cafe is small with the tiniest corner of toys for toddlers. Probably not suitable for those over 5 but my two kids stayed occupied with all the toys in this area.

Tried the iced coffee with vanilla and didn’t like it much to be honest. It was a bit too sweet and coffee was not strong enough. The iced coffee was in a real tall glass so that probably played a part in the the ratio of sweetness vs coffee taste. Husband tried the Eggs Benny and I tried the Halloumi delight. I was pleasantly surprised how nice it was and enjoyed my brunch. We also ordered the banana bread and it was nicely toasted.

The atmosphere however needs a bit of love. Even with the friendly service, the tables needed to be wiped down (crumbs and plates everywhere). The decor is homely but needs a bit of revamp and the kids area is filled with old toys that probably could be decluttered.

4 Star for overall food and experience but 3 star for atmosphere. However in saying that I will return as the food is good value for money and I will probably opt to sit...

Came here yesterday morning for breakie on our way to movie world. Saw the high reviews so was quite excited!! The menu was fantastic and the ladies that served me absolutely lovely, but unfortunately that’s where the good experience ended. The sun was brutal outside, with no shading.. an almost $80 bill, and not one of us could finish our food. The toastie was good, can’t complain there. The poached eggs were microwaved and hard. The extra bacon we paid for, was half a rasher and asked for crispy, it was burnt. The toast wasn’t cooked properly and the pancakes had black bits all over them, obviously cooked on the same grill as the bacon. The coffee was one of the worst coffees we’ve ever had and no white sugar only raw or sweetener. Im big on taking photos of my food to share, but honestly, not one of our plates were photo worthy. Unfortunately a very disappointing experience, but again hands down to the service, the ladies...

Rewrite. Re-evaluation now I'm home. I've read a few reviews and clearly you guys are a lovely local business with excellent customer service. Hard to find and much appreciated 🙏

Almost forgot - they don't have options to change sauce on uber eats, so I added a note asking for hollandaise instead of bbq. No extra charge really possible but note was taken care of and hollandaise provided. Huge ups 🔥

In my humble opinion, going off of my order today;

Breakfast wrap. Quality ingredients, tasted nice, only complaint here was the size/portion. There needs to be a large option for a few dollars extra. Banana Smoothie. Very nice, cold, packed separate to the food. Protein balls. These were quite funny tasting. Understand they are incredibly healthy and that's what everyone wants. But could taste better guys!
