My Friends Restaurant — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

Extremely disappointed with My Friends. Our family went for Mothers Day and All tables outside were full. We waited 1 1/2hrs and still no food and yet everyone in the restaurant could see a huge amount of takeaway orders going out the door. We could see the staff taking phone orders while we All waited for our food. The only communication we had was from the lovely young lady taking orders and apologising for the delays (and she was apparently new, bless her). Perhaps other staff did not show up? A person from most tables went in to complain and we suggested to stop taking phone orders and Concentrate on the orders taken from the patrons at the tables. We have been to the restaurant many times over the yrs and were there last Mothers Day and it was lovely. This time we walked out after 2hrs (as did others) and went to maccas where we only waited 5 mins lol … Get your priorities...

I am really disappointed in My Friends, I have been told by so many different people that this is the best Chinese. The food was ok not the best I have had however not the worse either. For the food only I probably would have given it a 2 possibly a 3, however the service was what let us down the most. They put us on a table outside by ourselves and once we ordered our meals (which they wanted us to do straight away once we sat down) they pretty much forgot about us and never came to our table the staff are inexperienced to say the least. I had to ask for a wine glass 3 times before one was brought out to me, also when I go to a Chinese restaurant i don't expect to ask for chop sticks, there were no chop sticks at all on the table. All in all the food was way over priced for what it was and the service is extremely disappointing I...

The atmosphere of the night was disgruntled patrons waiting over 2hrs for their food.. we had to wait an hour for entrees to be brought out..

The place doesn't seem to be run very well and I say that nicely as we had cucumber in our warm rainbow steak and complained and got fobbed off.. someone needs to go to specsavers as cucumbers are not a zucchini substitute especially if your paying $28 a dish.. special fried rice has a very small bit of meats in it.. only thing that was good about it was 2 prawns, the other meats was only one of each so not good when it comes to sharing with your partner and the someone misses out. Again premium price for very poor serving.

Family has been eating here for years but I think they've done their dash with us (my partner and I) coming back as repeat business after that horrendous...
