If I could give Oxfordston Bakery MINUS FIVE STARS, I would.

I ordered a sausage roll and a mixed meat banh mi — pork and chicken, NO CORIANDER, extra pâté, chili. I said it clearly. The staff member WROTE IT DOWN. She called it out to the person making it then gave her a piece of paper with the order on it which was the bag. I even double-checked when I picked it up because I saw green in the bag — she looked and said “Yep, NO CORIANDER, extra pâté with chili ” then handed it to me.

I took one bite in the car. Second bite? FULL-BLOWN CORIANDER EXPLOSION. That disgusting, bitter, soap-weed taste that completely ruins food for people like me who hate it.

I went straight back in. She looked at me and said — “CORIANDER IN IT, I KNEW IT” So she KNEW. She KNEW it had coriander. And she still handed it to me. Then she admitted it in front of other customers. Said “I knew it,” and tried to apologise and offer a remake.

No. That’s not a mistake. That’s not a mix-up. That’s LYING. It’s unethical. And I asked — “Who’s in charge here? Because this is disgusting.” Turns out — it WAS her. The person who lied to my face was the one running the place. Manager? Owner? Doesn’t matter. She knew, and still sent it out.

I said I didn’t want a replacement. I wanted a refund. They agreed — but then only gave me $11 back for a $15 banh mi. I had to ask why I was suddenly paying $10 (total was $21) for a sausage roll. It was just insult after insult.

This isn’t about coriander. It’s about integrity. If you have allergies, intolerances, or even just strong preferences — AVOID THIS PLACE. They’ll smile, lie to your face, and serve it anyway....

This is my go to place when I want my vietnamese ice coffee kick. Awesome value roast pork and coffee. Food is awesome.

However I had a really appalling experience this morning at around 9.30am. The cashier who was a middle age aussie lady was so rude to my friend and I. We both ordered vietnamese ice coffee and i also ordered roast pork. She didn't ask if we were paying together or separately and just went ahead to put the amount into the eftpos machine. So my friend ask her kindly if we could pay separately. The cashier then rolled her eyes and said something like "that's why you should've specified". My goodness!! How rude was she! This isn't good customer service! I've observed if she done it to other customer s, but no she didn't.

We have driven past a hundred times and only yesterday I noticed the sign on the roof advertising Vietnamese pork rolls, I quickly did a u turn as we love a good Vietnamese pork roll and headed in at about 1pm to a full shop of customers and one very friendly Vietnamese lady who had a work station with 6-10 pork rolls all happening at once. I knew I was onto a good thing and ordered 2 with extra chilli. Quick friendly polite staff and the best Vietnamese pork rolls.
