Cawfee Tawk — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

December 2024 - sadly an embarrassing effort today. Went there for breakfast on my 50th birthday. As we entered and ordered, no one else was seated at the time. We received our coffees, then watched 3 other tables, seated after us receive their drinks and food. After more than 30 minutes, we asked where our food was. There were looks of shock on the staff faces, like they hadn’t even realized we had been forgotten, despite the young lady acknowledging that we had definitely ordered and paid for food. No apology, just a “oh we don’t know what happened, we’ll cook it now, it will be 2 minutes”. 2 traditional breakfasts. Another 10minutes passed before the food came, with “we gave you an extra hash brown”, still no apology that I heard. The toast was stone cold, and the scrambled eggs were very dry and overcooked. The bacon and hash brown were both fresh. Very disappointing start to my day, hopefully they were having a bad day too, and this isn’t the new standard since the change of ownership/management

Took my partner out to breakfast, I don’t yet live in the area so wanted to check out some local places, unfortunately disappointed. The layout felt very cramped, and the cake fridge had flies in it. Ordered a chia in a mug, pancakes with added bacon, and my partner ordered a caramel thickshake and smashed avocado, replace sourdough with white bread and add bacon. Total was $53.46, which is a reasonable price. However my chia came out in a takeaway cup (not a big issue, just something I requested not to have but again, no issue), and his smashed avo came out at the same time as my drink. The egg was barely cooked, and the extra bacon we paid for was very small. The overall portion size was very small. We waited a further 15 minutes for our other drink and my food. The think shake was very runny (we paid extra for a THICK shake). My pancakes were 3 cookie sized pancakes with some thinly sliced berries, maple syrup and a scoop of ice cream. Again the portion size was very small, and there was a clear difference in size of bacon as it was nearly double the first one. The waitress was doing her job well enough, however wasn’t very approachable or smiling. I did not enjoy the experience very much and most likely won’t be...

Where do I begin.. The last time we came thru this way, this coffee shop had only just been established for a few months and unfortunately the customer service was totally lacking..we didn't even get any acknowledgement and when it was time to order the lady with the glasses took our order and was very unpleasant ( not even a smile).. Today my husband and I thought we would give it another shot......What a difference in Staff and Atmosphere..You could see that the lovely friendly staff wanted to be there and went above and beyond for us.....The coffee was just what I needed and I loved the way she made the milk slightly hotter so it was able to be drunk while eating my breakfast. ( nothing worse than cold coffee).... I believe with the right staff and Atmosphere this business will be very successful..they are on the right path....We...
