Hinterland Hotel — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

There are more misses than hits that have been experienced here. Hit: Met the lovely Tia at the bar when getting a drink. She was super friendly and chatty. She shared with us what the local gems are and recommended some places to visit. Compliments to her awesome customer service. The bar was a chill place to relax and the pool table added to the fun experience.

Overnight hotel stay experience was a mixed experience. The room and sheets were clean. The pillows were nice and the bed was comfy for a good nights rest. The room fittings was modern and the power points had a USB plug to charge your devices straight from. Here are misses that were experienced. After confirming our booking, we found a discount code for a better rate for the room. However the service staff on the follow up call refused to match the price and insisted that the rate I confirmed previously was the best price possible. This is first experience where the best rate possible was not offered after highlighting it. The room has many funny quirks and here is our list: Kettle is 0.9L. This is the smaller kettle ever seem in all our travels. The hot water tap head in the shower was loose. OMG! It was hard to adjust the temperature and to turn the water off properly. The bath towel gathers up each time, the toilet door is opened. The shower door and the toilet door will slam into each other. So please remember to close the shower door after existing it. The overhead lamp shade is too large and will hit your head if you are 1.7 m tall. My partner in the photo is 1.55 m . Could not find the switch to the overhead spot light as we checked in after sun down. It was only in the morning when we moved the curtains that we discovered it There was only 1 chair in the room and we fought over who should sit on it to have our food. The next day we then discovered more chairs in the balcony that we could have brought in as recommended by the staff. There is still lack of table space to put our items and to eat our food. We ended up sitting on the bed to eat. There is a lot of space along the wall for more tables

I hope the managing team will pick up on these quirks and rectify them.

Seeking legal advice over the treatment and bullyness and lies in received by theses crooks All the problems I over looked because I was happy someone gave me a roof over my head while I struggle and start my own buisness But now gloves are off as I am sleeping in my car because if there lies.this place is a filthy disgusting corporate money grab.they don't give a crap about you or your families or your stay just there bottom line. Couldent even get my name right when made booking made out it was my fault like I don't know my own name. The room is disgusting not clean at all had writing on mirror in bathroom for the 3 weeks I stayed there every time the bathroom steamed up it said i love big fat something from previous guests so mirrors aren't clean.first night had to clean food of the menu from previous people.slot more i could say here but cleaning lady is nice First night called reception because wifi doesent work at all in room 19 lady at desk told me I need my own netflix account?I said yes I know that but there is no internet then she said never been asked how to work a TV before.they make you feel real dumb.spent alot of money on room service first couple nights then you leave your plates out side as you are told to do but you will wake up with food everywhere and animals eating of your plates disgusting. Called them before packing up my life to come to gold coast and start a small buisness told me I could pay nightly then 2 days after stay told me I had to pay weekly wich i couldent afford especially with the rain that's been around. I stayed there for 3 weeks paying nightly wich i can afford then won't let me back simply because I can not pay lump sums upfront. Un Australian do not support local buisness just no hearts cruel...

This place is great for a couple of drinks or a meal in the busy restaurant. But after staying at the hotel for a few nights I couldn't recommend the hotel. The rooms are clean enough (just don't look under the bed). The beds are huge and fairly comfortable but the shower took an unreasonable amount of time for the hot water to come through... And If this was the only problem we had it would have been reasonably dealable. However my poor husband was made to feel so uncomfortable by one (overly flirty and unprofessional) cleaner who seemed to have nothing better to do than harrass him the entire time we were there. I thought her flirting was cute on the first day but she hung around half the night and then she came knocking on our door waking us up in the morning wanting to give him towels he didn't ask for or need. And honestly after a couple of days he was reluctant to leave the room without me because she kept hanging around outside the rooms after she'd finished her cleaning job making it impossible for him to step out without her following him and going out of her way to talk about anything. If I didn't see it myself I wouldn't have believed it. But it he was literally being stalked. We didn't know what to do. It was just too strange?! My husband and I travel alot together for work so we've seen it all. But this creepy cleaning lady was something different to say the least, and still to this day remains at the top of the list of most awkward hotel...
