During the chaos of Cyclone Alfred, I stumbled upon this café for a much-needed coffee—and it left a lasting impression that goes far beyond the cup. With the internet down and the café operating as cash-only, the man running it graciously offered for us to pay later if needed—a gesture he extended to several customers without hesitation. It was such a genuine act of kindness in the middle of a stressful time, and one I’ve never forgotten.

Thankfully, we were able to find an ATM nearby and pay, but the offer itself meant more than words can say. Since then, I’ve returned for the occasional coffee, and every time it has been just as warm, comforting, and consistently delicious as that first visit.
