Degani Hope Island — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

Came in for breakfast after the hype from family members.

The service was good and staff friendly enough. Food order taking great with no dramas. Tables clean and nice seats and options.

Food, hit and miss. The poached eggs and extras was a solid 4 stars...not bad but missed that care and attention of cooking if I can explain like that.

The Breakfast stack was not quite right, the croutons were soggy and the salsa or tomato thing they put in it tasted quite odd. Not right. Person with us only ate a bit off the side toast wise and around it.

The avo toast was also a bit odd and missed the care and attention, slapped together is the best way to describe it.

Drinks, coffee was ok, nothing too wrong with it. Smoothie was excellent as was the milkshake.

I'd like to see QR codes on tables for ordering for those older folks who find it hard to...

Degani hopeisland has great coffee and food and service. The only thing I get when visiting is a caramel cap and breakfast burger which has this amazing caramlised onion relish the only reason I get the burger. When the burger arrived at the table it didn't have the relish so I asked if they forgot to put it on.I got given a tub of cold onion that's been fried up so I went and bought the relish that is usually on the burger from Woolworths and showed them as I've asked in the past which relish they used. They said that no the onion we gave you is the relish we use which I know for a fact is a lie because I asked the staff in the past where they get it. I asked for a small refund for the amount of the relish and got told no we don't do refunds....

We’ve walked past this coffee shop for approx 3-4years and never considered to have a coffee or a meal here. We are locals.

The coffee was fantastic, apple and cinnamon crumble would be one of the best I’ve ever had. Scrambled eggs on GF bread - eggs cooked to perfection. Poached eggs on sourdough with salmon on the side - again the salmon was fresh and poached eggs perfect! And the service was with a smile to boot.

We will definitely return and being local a big plus.

A must try if in the area. We complemented the staff and their food.
